I got two main reasons.
1.I find nords fit more in light armor then heavy armor, it looks more viking.
2.I simply love the stormcloak officer armor, even though it is a bit weak i can balance it with the use of enchanting.
And alot of small reasons.

Just finished a orc barbarian. He specilized in 2-handed, restoration, light armor, smithing, enchanting. He is fast, hits like a truck and once his armor rating goes up can take some serious punishment.

I will definetly have thousands of barfights in skyrim while this song is playing.

Nice thing is you are able to build any character into a successful, or not, character with the right skill and perk choices.

That being said, my main characters are always Light Armor Two Handed. Has been since Morrowind.

I think it looks pretty awesome and would recommend for your barbarian. Plus it's light armor !

2 hander + light armor, you will like this build a lot! Speed and hit hard is the key. Sprinting power attack and deliver 1 hit kill to most foes is what a true warrior capable to do.

My highest-level character (level 46) was a Light-Armor, 2-Handed warrior. Aside from a handful of (unavoidable) Speech level-ups, he leveled only three skills the entire game: Light Armor, 2-Handed and Smithing. He also put Perks into only those trees also.

He didn't use spells or scrolls. He didn't use Blessings, Powers or Shouts. He didn't do Alchemy. He didn't do Enchanting and he didn't use enchanted gear.

He was, by far, my favorite Skyrim character to date.

My main character uses mainly light armor and two-handed weapons - one of, if not the most, fitting combat style for me.

Sounds good to me. Barbarian style.

I might make a light armoured two handed character at some point too.
