Rebuilding Helgen?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:14 am

Don't you think it would be cool to rebuild Helgen? You could get some of your 'friends' in skyrim and they would help you to rebuild Helgen.

You saw at the beginning that Helgen had a lot of potential and it looked like the best village in the whole game.

What do you think? Wouldn't that be a great idea?
And this isn't a spoiler, because this happens at the beginning of the game.

It certainly would give Falkreath Hold a better reputation. Falkreath is the only settlement in Falkreath, since Riverwood officially belongs to Whiterun for some reason. I don't see what rebuilding helgen would be like though.

Agreed. I hope they do so, but I kind of doubt it considering they never rebuilt Kvatch.
Perhaps the DLC would involve Helgen becoming the hold capital?

Yeah or in a mod. Perhaps just making a few NPCs move back in instead of bandits would be a good start.

Yes, falkreath would get a lot of population and people that would live in Helgen would give you more quests etc. falkreath is probably most under rated hold in my opinion.

I mentioned this back in december. Would make a great DLC to fight for it back, then become the Jarl (although it's already in a hold with one). Have your own mini village!

Build it up: A new tower - 100k gold and so on,. a moneysink for everybody.

Like when you decorate your new house.

I love the idea and having people moving there.

Don't hold your breath.

I was expecting / hoping for the same thing in regards to Kvatch but it never came to be. If it wasn't for the Kvatch Rebuilt team, that town would still be a 200+ year old smoking ruin.

If i have to choose,i would largely prefer a Winterhold rebuild - even if it would be much more difficult to accomplish i suppose.

I like the fact that it is a small town with a wall. In fact I think it is the only one. I would love to see it rebuilt, but judging by all the other towers and cities in Skyrim, rebuilding anything isn't very high on their to-do list. Even Whiterun is never repaired after it is attacked.

Would be awesome to build up Helgen again! To rebuild it by our own accord, kind of like our own decorating quest. On a spare time level though, when one wants to do something other plunder and kill all the time :P Brilliant idea :)

Yh. This idea has come up a few times before and rightfully so. Its a great idea, so listen up Beth'

The other place which has been suggested is for Winterhold to be rebuilt into a thriving city. I think I steer more towards Winterhold to be rebuilt as it seems such a dull place. Winterhold has plenty of available land nearer the coast line and beneath the college and could do with a city wall. You can also get a horse cart ride there from all the other cities.
Maybe have the Dovahkiin (& hero of Skyrim) have a castle home built there. I'm sure having the Dovahkiin move there would bring people back to the city. That and now the Mages Guild has a new leader who also happens to be the hero of Skyrim

Hmm, I went back to helgen out of curiousity (first time since i first left 75 hours of playing time ago) and had to take care of all these bandits. Looking at the scenery made me hope that one day Beth will rebuild it for us Console guys...

I actually went back to helgen about 5 min (irl) after I first got out of there (didn't head off for Riverwood until later sometime), and there was absolutely noone there. Everything was burnt to the ground, was nothing to find. *disappointed* But things were actually still burning :P Kinda cool, really... :P

Being able to do some actual work, like chopping down trees and working the wood to make walls and doors, and evetually windows, would do me good in the game. Hitting the nails in and minor stuff like that. Someone HAVE to make this happen for us that plays on ps3. :o
