Did you know... Part II

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 10:24 pm

Well I think it's time for a new Did you Know thread. I made one for Morrowind, Fallout , New Vegas, and Skyrim. They worked out pretty good. The Skyrim one, took on slow, but boy did it take off after wards, and lernt alot of things in there.

I have been away for a while and getting back into Skyrim again. I thought it would be good again to have a new one, since the old one got locked. (Post limit, but boy past the post limit :P)

So basically the rules are Without Spoilers, say something that people may not know about. Doesn't matter if you are a newbie or a vetran and played thousands of hours, there is something always new to learn.

So for me, I didn't know about wielding a pick axe when mining for ore, you can do it manually and not just click on the ore and go into 3rd person view and do it. So I would like to see again what other new things or old things I didn't know about in Skyrim.

Remember, no SPOILERS please.

I would love to start it off, but since I haven't played in a while, it will be like a new game for me again.

So please, will someone start "Did you know..." off please.

You can sneak in full darkness with a spell equipped. The game doesn't recognise them as light sources, so they don't affect enemy perception until cast.

Vastly different thread.

Did you know that you can mine ore by manually hitting it with a pickaxe, and that you can mine twice as fast dual-wielding picks?

Aurorae appear when the night sky is clear, so using the Clear Skies shout at night effectively summons a light show.

- The game does not distinguish between body shots and head shots, so aim for body as it's a larger target.

You can activate pressure plates with arrows, and set off enemy runes with your own spells.

That if you *activate* a sitting follower and sit in their chair before they complete the animation of getting up, they'll sometimes wind up standing on the chair or your head after you sit. (Their way of saying, "Screw you, that was my chair!", I guess.)

Okay, okay ... fine. I got nothing. But at least I can keep reading this thread. :D

With no alchemy skill whatsoever, you can cure any diseases by eating hawk feathers. (Don't try this at home, kids, god knows what you might catch.)

The Bullseye perk in Archery paralyzes the target BEFORE THE ARROW EVEN LANDS, making them fall over and sometimes causing you to miss the target/hit them in the knee.
