Skyrim: Middle Earth Project

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:41 pm

I remember seeing before Skyrim was released, a video showing a super huge mod which was based on Middle Earth from Tolkiens works.. i head they scrapped it as they beleived Skyrim would be a much better basis for a Middle Earth mod.. can anyone tell me if more has been heard of this project (which i forget the actual name of) or can anyone find me the original video of the oblivion version? A Middle Earth mod is possibly the only reason i would purchase a brilliant computer for Skyrim..

I hear that the beta is available for Oblivion port. The skyrim mod is being worked on. Don't expect it for a couple years.

your welcome. Also keep in mind that there are more videos and even a few other channels dedicated to this mod. go ahead and find them. (Though most of the videos were from the Oblivion version.)

I still don't understand why EA doesn't go out and make a LOTR game similar to TES. That's what the LOTR fans actually want. Most of their games have kind of svcked. Just go out and finally give the people what they want and just maybe the game will sell and be pretty good.

Dude, i've been thinking the same thing for years. I thought we had a chance when they announced The White Council, until they trashed it.

LOTR War in the North was much more shallow than I expected. If they made an open world LOTR, I'd buy it.

The project is called MERP (Middle Earth Roleplaying Project). We're creating a total conversion mod for Skyrim (but it was previously being worked on for Oblivion, and before that Morrowind). We released MERP Beta 0.2.6 about a month ago for Oblivion.

Please do check us out and support us. Its a very large project (I've been with the project over 3 years now) and we can use all the help and support that we can get :)

And let me just tell you: we are working on including ALL of Middle Earth (well, minus Harad and Rhun, we've made our heightmap as large as we can before we start hitting errors), which is far more then what was going to be in The White Council game. Btw that game will NEVER get released, since the LOTR game license isn't under EA anymore (its under Warner Bros now I believe?).
