Followers do not level up as player does, meaning we should

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:31 am

I read in the wikki. Saids that followers are locked at the level in which they first encounter the player, and will not continue to level up as the player does. So if I am still using the first one since level 1, and I am at level 15 now I should start to find a new follower to swap ? Has anyone notice anyone who uses the same follower since the beginning seems to die easily as the game progresses ? (thats my theory)

If you play on pc you can dismiss your follower then go into the console and click on your follower thentype in disable then enable this will level them up to your level I think. If you are on console they you should switch followers everyone once in a while.

I think that, on console, you can [save!, take their stuff, then] dismiss them, use Wabbajack...which should cause them to re-level their stats when they morph back.

pretty much means you gotta change them every now and them or use the wabbajack trick, anyway there's so many followers that you won't need it unless you like one of them that much to keep him/her level scaled with you.

How do you tell what level your follower is? or what there stats are on the Xbox? I heard Uthgerd's one-hand skill was higher than her two-hand skill, so I replaced her greatsword with a skyforge steel sword and a good shield which improved her combat performance, but how do yo check?

he's scaled to your level the first time you recruit him/her.
I don't know if there a way to see the stats in the game, probably not.

Still a pretty unfortunate bug. Ideally, they will fix it so we won't have to rely on a workaround.

Followers dont level up but mercenarys do however they only level up in the things that you level up in. So if you level up in two handed weapons they will also level up in two handed weapons. So what you need to do if you want them to be useful is pick one that fights in same way as you do.

This word "level" that you keep using... it doesn't mean what you think it means.

Are you sure that followers do not level up? I think my follower does (I am playing on PS3): So far I played 120 hrs. as Mage always having the witch Illija as follower on my side. I equipped her with the finest ebony armor (for protection) and the best magic support equipment (for attacks), and she finally became such a killer, that she often kills enemies faster than I can!

Instead of leveling, I have three different hard coded follower problems:

1. Followers cannot learn new spells
My follower cannot learn new spells, she only can use weaker spells. This is a bit limiting. Therefore, I usually give my follower the most powerful Staffs instead of using them myself, and she is using them efficiently, sometimes probably better than I could.

2. Followers cannot heal me (even if having a healing Staff)
I gave my follower a Staff for reviving Zombies, and she uses it nicely. However, my follower does not use a healing Staff at all. While I always try to have a look at my follower for healing her if needed, my follower does not the same for me.

3. (Some) followers cannot be married
I spent almost my entire game with my beloved follower, and I finally would like to marry her.
However, the game does not allow this for Illia. This is so heartbreaking!
