Okay, so I'm remaking my 2nd character

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 5:01 am

I say second because my first character svcked so hard I hit her with the delete button (X, I think?). Robes + no alteration + light armor gloves and boots and a sword in one hand and lightning in the other. Yeah, crap.

Basically my 2nd was a wood elf sneak/archer in dragonscale. But I like the look of the Ancient Nord Armor on chicks and was wondering if anyone happens to know if there's a cool totally awesome powerful bow I'd be able to pick up without having to travel up one side of the smithing tree or the other. (since ancient nord has no smithing perk) . So less sneak more combat with this version.

I plan on getting the Steel Smithing and Arcane smithing perk for sure, and not having to travel the perk train would make it easier for me to take RP focused perks (I'd like to mess around with speech a little, probably the intimidation branch), plus have more perks for alchemy. (alchemy without lame exploit route is actually pretty fun)

So yeah, any awesome bows that the steel perk works on, or am I going to have to go up one side or the other? (or overcharge my smithing like i have to do with my armor?)

I was just thinking: Why are there no half-elves in skyrim?

Well, Bretons are sort of half-elf-ish.

Can't answer your question about bows, though, sorry. But to be honest I would think just about any bow would be effective. I've read about people using basic Longbows through their whole game.

Ancient Nord smithing is under Daedric, for some bizarre reason.

Not awesome, but Forsworn bows can be found early, are good for a while, and are improved with steel.

Oh wow I just looked it up on UESP and misread it the first time. So I guess I'm going up the Daedric side.

Yeah Forsworn is a great early on bow. Same damage as an Elven Bow.

The Hunting Bow can be good too. There is no perk for the Longbow, but the Hunting Bow is improved with the Steel perk (and a leather strip), so it is easy to improve to decent levels through smithing. Some claim its fast draw speed makes up for the lower damage of Hunting Bows as compared to heavier bows like Daedric.

Also, the Bound Bow spell is insanely powerful with the Mystic Binding perk, since it gives you the equivalent of an Exquisite Daedric Bow with unlimited Daedric arrows.
