Skyrim cthulhu Mythos-like Dlc?

I'm not talking giant octopus like creatures but more of a "implied" horror fell, like if Bethesda added a massive dark and misty city/dungeon, that there's almost no enemies around and you find notes from previous adventurers and former occupants and there's dead bodies and all sorts of spooky things, and from time to time you catch glimpses of what's out there...And the atmosphere would constantly make you feel depressed and stuff!!! But the best part you cant fight the thing that's there, you ever run or die in horrible ways.

I'd enjoy something like that as I enjoy Lovecraftian horror in general, but the general populace wouldn't. Most people want to "take it to the Thalmor!" (yuck) or something else generic. Great idea for a mod though.

As someone who would pay 20$ for a DLC which would just contain an arena with me, a machine gun and some Thalmor in it, I would totally jump on a mystery DLC. I loved The Stars are Left for Magicka and I'm all in for a lovecraftian expansion, prefferably with Hermaeus Mora in it.

Ooooooh If i were an experienced Modder/Designer i would take up this challenge. Lovecrafts horror recipe is simple and effective.
  • Usually involves a character you can relate/sympathize with (RPG character takes care of that) in an unknown but vaguely familiar setting.
  • The antagonist or "evil" is a constant character but remains in the literary darkness, just out of explanation, vaguley giving you an idea of WHAT it is, but more of WHY it is... A good example is the Abandoned House quest in markarth. Very similar to a Lovecraftian Horror, as is the Child summoning the Dark Brotherhood (cant remember the quest name)
  • A feeling of being insignificant, like if this evil was to even think about you, your existance would cease. That small feeling, like a spec of beach sand swirling in the tides.
  • Awe or Fear inspiring greatness, "God-like" beings we are almost incapable of understanding (Think reapers, mass effect. Or more Skyrim-ish, the Daedra & Aedra) invoking reverance verging on Zealousness.
  • Usually reaches a climix with being so close to the "evil" that you could reach out and touch it, but still unaware of what it is or when it will strike.
  • Excaping or keeping sanity is usually the goal and conclusion of many Lovecraft Stories, sometimes its positive, sometimes it leaves you with an uneasy, unfinished feeling. The satisfying kind (NOT ME3 ending, for example :) )
I may have to take a look at the Creation Kit. It would be worth a few long nights to craft a quest like that!

Kind of OT but after listening to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TRaj2-9G5U I would not mind a giant Kraken-monster-thingymajig in DLC.

Isn't Hermaeus Mora basically the equivalent of a Lovecraftian being?

I want to see Azura's dimension myself; the way they describe her plane makes it visually breathtaking if you try to imagine it. And with the graphics that Skyrim has, I would love to see such aqn abstract landscape fleshed out...
Hermaeus Mora's dimension is just a very very large library filled with black untitled books... unless they add some sort of twist to his plane, it doesn't seem very eventful to be in such a place.
