Skyrim Patch Expediated

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 8:32 pm

Okay so we're still waiting for patch 1.5 and it has been ten days. Anyone else think that maybe Sony and Microsoft should fix their submission systems so it doesn't take so ridiculously long to get something approved.

Or at the very least expediate Skyrim Patchs because honestly that spew about making sure it is up to some level of standards went out the door when they okay the patch that broke Skyrim for many players. Not harping on that just pointing out Sony and Microsoft have no excuse for taking so long when they clearly aren't checking for quality.

You realize that your post is an oxymoron.

To keep on topic: Several figures in the gaming community have come out against the submission process even proclaiming that it costs a company 40,000 dollars to patch a game because of it.

I just despise when I read Bethblog posts, and it says, "the patch has been submitted to Sony and Microsoft, and will be released soon."

Soon never means anything. It is entirely vague. How is "soon" defined? 1 day? 14 days?

That is the part that I am annoyed about, not getting more specific information. I would be perfectly content with an approximate wait time.

Anything better than, "soon".

On paper the mandatory QA process is something that should restrain game developers to distribute patches which contain potentially game and system breaking issues. The reality is somewhat different and it doesn't come as a surprise that the entire process only translates in higher costs for the developers and longer waiting time for the users.

Me want 1.5 patch now. Why me no have it?

Because Sony and Microsoft are morons that want the patch to be good. That's why. I'm waiting for it, for the ps3.

The two companies could be stalling to make cash from Bethesda. Or because they want it to be glitch free. Or a little bit of both. In this world, there is no evil. Only crappy shades of grey.

i think they do this to cover themselves, microsofts time checking patchs varys from patch to patch. its alright bethesda saying weve submitted it, the patch will be with you in X amount of days. I think you can tell how sour the forums would go if the patch didnt arrive when bethesda thought it would...
