Well I just obtained Daedric Armour yesterday. I'm currently Level 27, and spent a few hours gathering Daedric Hearts and Ebony Ingot which was fairly easy for me seeing as I completed main quest and did the Dark Brotherhood storyline so I could easily get hearts from the Babette (think thats her name) the little girl.

So I obtained the armour, (need to enchant) just wondering seeing as I did not play Oblivion is this the best armour in Skyrim? and will they bring out new armour? thank you

Yes and almost certainly yes.

Depends. Dragonplate is almost as good, but is much lighter. In general thou, you can get almost any armour to the cap of 576. Pick the armour that looks the best.

Having in mind Smithing, armor perks and the 567 Armor cap, pretty much any armor from Elven/Orcish and up can top it (even Steel, I think..).

I'm happy right now with a modded steel plate one, a modded shield with daedric stats, and an armored fur hood with iron stats. Easily reached 746 AR.

Bring out new armor? They might in DLC or patches (like the ranged/magic kill cams), but Daedric will still be the best as it was in previous games.

It is the most powerful armor not in Skyrim but all of Tamriel. Yes you can get any high level armor to the armor cap, but deadric gets there faster.

Highest base armor rating, but if your char isn't evil, the look is waaay over the top. steel plate or ebony all the way.

where can I find those? I only know fur body armor, boots and gloves.

My personal favorite is wolf armor, the garb of a true nord. Same stats and perks as steel armor but very light, and I like the way it looks. And reaching the armor cap was a lot easier than with the elven armor. Good if you are economizing on perks.

the armor value is capped on 576 (80% protection from non magical damage) so anything beyond this is pointless so pick armor for looks

and yes deadric IS the best armor in the game although it looks too demonic for my taste

I also prefer the Wolf Armor and the rating has never been an issue for me. I've never felt I needed more armor. With 100 smithing you'll have more than you ever need in the game as it is.

I've been playing fooooooooor..... maybe 350+ hours, and I've only ever found a Daedric Battle Axe. I like how not every bandit has Daedric now.

Considering dragons and dragon armor are new I think they should be the best. You need a maxed out smithing skill to make dragon armor and also kill dragons for the resources. It should be better.

No it should just be easier to build dragon. And I don't know about you, but dragon bones are in infinite supply in this game. Deadra hearts on the other hand cost roughly 1k gold a piece if you can find one of the two merchants who sell it(1 at a time).... not counting the ebony. Now look at dragon armor... it is pieces of dragon bones and scales attached together with leather and steel. Doesn't look that hard to work with compared to any of the other materials.

Now think about the process for building deadric. You have to bind deadra souls into ebony as you are forging it, and it magically changes in the process. The fact that your weapon doesn't come alive and eat your hand in the process in a miracle. Personally I think the atronach forge should be the only way to make deadric, I don't think a common forge should be able to..

Don't worry about stats go with what you think looks best. I must admit to never using it as I come from the morrowind tradition of it being very rare and you have to work hard to obtain a full suit - not simply making it.

Actually thats not true. It was not always the best armor. In Morrowind you had certain unique armors that were better such as the dragonbone cuirrass and i think the lords mail as well. not sure about the second one. In the Shivering Isle expansion for Oblivion Madness and Amber armor at Perfect Rating were much better than Daedric Armor as well. However in this game Daedric armor seems to be incredibly powerful maybe they will include a few unique armors instead in the DLC instead of smithable armors. Don't want dragon armor to be the third or fourth strongest...thats really downplaying it...

Yes without a doubt it is the best armor available. It is also the best weapon type available. However it is very heavy so you may want a few heavy armor perks to go with it. I would still suggest getting the Dragon Armor perk though for your companions. If you use heavy armor and weapons you might want a partner who can weaken your opponents from a distance while u hack away like Faendal or Onmund. You can give them dragon Scale Armor. If your a mage and you only use light Armor by getting the Dragon armor perk you can get the bes tlight armor and still get great heavy armor for your companion. Combat oriented companions go great with mages. They draw the attention away from yourself and let you work from the outside.
