Do YOU have these problems?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 8:49 pm

There is times when I go to shoot my bow, pull the arrow all the way back, hold it back for a good 3 seconds, but when I release it is just flops 2 ft in front of me, which is rediculous considering my ARCHERY skill is 47.

It happens so often it is just another (out of many) reasons I stopped playing.

I really hope they can get this 1.5 update onto xbox soon, and hope future updates fix these types of problems.

I read that they are fixing the problem with arrows not cleaning up properly....WHAT!
What about weapons and shields not cleaning up? That is a huge problem also, a corpse will "clean up" but their shield and weapon just end up floating where they died and never "clean up" so I end up roleplaying as a dragon slaying janitor.

I wish I had a PC, that way it would justify why I paid money for this abomination. Oblivion wasnt half this bad (although it had archery problems, it didnt have so many game breaking problems) yet it was Bethesda's first next gen game.

I am a HUGE EoS, Fallout, and all around Bethesda fan, but this is just horrible, even after 5-6 months its still unenjoyable. I love Skyrim, but its just a chore to even try to play.

i suggest you get over yourself and quit games all together, maybe take up archery for real.

No, really pissed me off:

Spoiler
Part of the Thieves Guild where you go to Honningbrew Meadery near Whiterun. Was trying to Sneak attack that Mage in the basemant the 1st time with my Bow and it just plopped, like you said, 2 feet in front of me. DUDE just turns around and starts BLASTING me with Fireballs like holy crap! -dead-

Had the same thing happen, it's rare occurences though. I'm finding Daggers to be way more fun when Sneaking now. Redonkulous.

If they expect us to pay $60 for a game, it should work.

I expected to be able to use the games features the way they were meant to be used, not just accept that I paid full price for a broken game. Its a LOT more than just floating objects and arrows misfiring, have you even played Skyrim for an extended period of time?

You maybe an immature ass that accepts mediocrity but I expect better from Bethesda.

On a related note.. sometimes I shoot arrows at mammoths from a ridiculous distance away. Maybe at two and a half times the distance that is between the towers at the Valthiem bridge. I'll even aim up a little bit to compensate for distance and possible wind resistance. I don't know if the game mechanics are even like that though. But, I swear I'm hitting the thing but damage won't register. Explanations, anyone? Or do arrows vanish if the target is too far away.

You must not have much of a life if you accept this kind of half assed support out of a game that requires a lot of time invested in order to be worth it.

Don't be a hater. And really, you didn't expect these types of glitches from a Bethesda game? Even after playing Fo3 and NV?

I've never had either of those problems... I don't get why everyone is complaining about Skyrim being "unplayable." I've had almost no bugs. Just a few insignificant ones here and there, and never any game breaking ones. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I edited it because it was a bit harsh.

I did expect some level of glitches, but not to the extent of the game breaking, immersion collapsing bugs that occur in Skyrim.

Also, F3 wasnt this bad and NV was developed by Obsidian (the engine was Bethesdas of course) which was really buggy but not as much as I have seen in Skyrim.

Am I really the only fan that feels like this game should have been polished more and released later?

trust me your not Bethesda needs to learn how to port a game most importantly and not focus on one console I mean look at the ps3 framerate and freezing before 1.4 and look at the pc UI (I have not played the pc version but hear the UI is bad) it seems they only make a game on the xbox and scramble to make ports

I'm fairly certain that the arrow flop issue is hardware related and is not the game's fault per se.

This is caused by the game drawing actors further away than it is drawing items. Some people claim to fux this by messing with uGrids, I found that all I needed to do was max out my item draw distance in the gfx options. Now I can shoot monsters/NPC's from as far away as I can see them.

Touche. But, yeah. As far as games being released way too soon.. I see your point and agree. I just toss it up to the gamer gods on this one. I mean, before the days of online gaming and patching and the likes, I never got too upset about Blades of Steel glitching out when it did.

My own personal theory is that it's caused by dropped frames. I noticed that for me at least, arrow flop accompanied fps drop in the presence of heavy shadows or certain magic effects. After playing with my gfx settings, the problem seemed to go away... at least for awhile. Arrow flop came back in a big way awhile ago and I eliminated it by reinstalling my Logitech SetPoint drivers. This is all anecdotal but it's something to consider.
