Dawnguard DLC Theory (Rational and Thought Out) [Some Spoile

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:15 pm

Incorrect. Vivec's power came from that heart. If the heart's magical influence was still around then Vivec would've stayed Immortal but he became a Mortal due to his 'influence' being destroyed. Vivec mentioned this after the completion of that quest, if I am correct.

So basicly, that heart is dead and gone.

You can kill Vivec before the Heart is destroyed, though. Still, you are correct, that ALMSIVI and Dagoth Ur lost their power when the physical heart was destroyed. But destroying the heart didn't destroy Lorkhan, is what I'm saying. The heart is just a physical artifact. But yeah, you are correct. The physical heart probably won't reappear in another game.

I dont think Hammerfell will be Dlc, and i also doubt Dawnguard will simply just be a 'castle' to own. Its sounding like some joinable faction that might have a expansion sized story or close to it.

Two other provinces can be reached through roads in Skyrim: one is Hammerfell and the other is Morrowind (west Morrowind, to be exact: that portion of land seems to be pretty small and enclosed by high mountains to the south and the sea to the east). It could be that the road to Hammerfell leads first to Orsinium, which is also said to be very small.

Adamantine tower is far to the south; if there will be any quest involving one of the pillars of the world, I think it will revolve around the one located in Skyrim, the mountain where Paarthumax lives and which is commonly called by men and mer "the throat of the world".

Pretty sure they already did that one...

Considering that Bethesda has been working on this for five months, I could see it being a big expansion like this.

Why save Black Marsh for Elder Scrolls VI? Why don't they just make Elder Scrolls: Tamriel instead? We need a TES game that will be the BIG ONE.

Im pretty sure that tower is in high rock, not hammerfell. Which happens to be a more appropriate size for an expansion (hammerfell is bigger than skyrim with huge cities, probably tes 6 material) but i think you may be on to something with that

I think this expansion would be about hircine's avatar enslaving dragons and other creatures turning them into were versions of themsleves, even stronger than alduin.

Impossible. Not even the best computers would be able to handle al of it, if everything is supposed to be as detailed as Skyrim alone. What i would like to see for the next TES is two countries, both with their own guilds and such.

Can you imagine not using fast travel for that game? Ha, that would be a pain.

I like the idea of some Nedes coming to Skyrim. Or even better, visiting Atmora for what its worth (if that is even physically possible with the ice).

My (Rough) Theory for DLC: Dawnguard

Seeing that the world was supposed to end with Alduin destroying everything (sort of, since Alduin’s Wall foresees the Dovahkiin, although Alduin is still at the end of the prophecy regardless) the world is pretty much… lost at this point. Unless another prophecy comes up, everybody is freewheeling through Mundus without a prophecy to guide major events. Since every Elder Scrolls game has been leading up to this prophecy, and now that the big prophecy is finished, I think Dawnguard might be set in Hammerfell. Here is my rationale.

Whenever the mention of “dawn” comes up, it is usually referring to the very early time, or the Mythic Era. The oldest structure in Tamriel is purported to be the Adamantine Tower on the Isle of Balferia in the Iliac Bay near Hammerfell, dated back to that era. That tower is the closest thing to the “dawn” as you can get in Tamriel. Plus, we’ve already seen in Skyrim that there is a high amount of reference to Hammerfell already. The quest with the Redguard Maiden, the fact that there is already a preexisting “Redguard Outfit” when no other race gets that privilege, and the inclusion of curved swords (CURVED SWORDS) all show an odd, unexplained favoritism towards Hammerfell.

Then there’s the lore aspect, because the Adamantine Tower is where the gods converged to discuss the creation of Mundus. We’re already dealing on an epic scale with Skyrim, and we’ve interacted with Akatosh in Oblivion; I don’t see why a more divine storyline couldn’t be in the works. Plus, Adamantine Tower is where the gods cast Lorkhan’s Heart from, the very same heart that is discussed in the quest “Discerning the Transmundane.” That might just be the Devs wanting you to be familiar with the concept of the Heart, especially since the game forces you into that Daedric Quest on the course of the Main Quest.

There's also the theory that the Mythic Dawn may be featured again. Originally I thought the idea of the Mythic Dawn involvement to be silly; the game already addresses the cult in a Daedric Quest, and that’s the end of it. But the more I think about it, Dawnguard may actually tie in. If the Heart of Lorkhan really is a plot device in this new DLC, then the Mythic Dawn would tie in perfectly due to their desire to restore Tamriel to its “rightful owner,” Lorkhan. Not sure how that could play into a storyline yet, but it is definitely a possibility.

So let’s play around with this idea, guys! What do you think? Reasonable? Any ideas for a potential storyline taking place around this? Discuss at will, friends.
....they want mehrunes dagon to have the world, they just ignore lorkhan...

This made me laugh. It is HIGHLY possible. If Modders can create every single province for past TES games, I think Bethesda can create the whole land of Tamriel for one game instead of leaving the rest of Tamriel for modders to make. Only thing it'll do is require the console users to actually install their game on their hard-drive.

I saw 2 mistakes:
1. The Adamantine Tower is on the Isle Balfiera, which belongs to High Rock, not to Hammerfell. It is also closer to High Rock then to Hammerfell.
2. The Mythic Dawn is a Cult that revers Mehrunes Dagon, not Lorkhan. Lorkhan has nothing to do with the Mystic Dawn.

Wishful thinking :

The Nords view the Dawn Era not as the beginning of this world, but the end of the last one (the world begins with the oldest story you know).

So the Dawn is a very bad thing, and who guards against the Dawn?

Shor. And where is Shor?

Broken, and floating in the night sky. (Well, ok, not floating, the infinite plane(s) that are his dead body can only be comprehended by mere mortal minds as solid spheres floating in the sky).

So.....there is still a tiny possibility we get to go to the moons. (Preferably in the company of the Khajiiti of Llesweyr, using moonsugar as transportation).

Well, one can but hope.
