I use the world map to navigate in Blackreach. There are fewer spots and names differ more.
Blackreach is fantastic. For me the Elder Scrolls version of Moria. Nevertheless it is a bit empty.
Hi VitaminK! How are you doing?
Indeed, at first, Blackreach is so wonderful and alluring. The music there is just great, fuzzy, warm, atmospheric, kind of reminds me of Harold Budd. But once you get past the initial excitement, you begin to notice it sits firmly on the vacant rehashed side of things. For example, the giant glowing mushrooms which seem to be exclusive to Black Reach serve no purpose whatsoever: can't be harvested , can't be used in any form, can't be climbed, etc. They are just cardboard scenery. The place is also rather uneventful. In a way, it epitomizes the whole Skyrim experience: good, not great, alluring but ultimately unsatisfying.
