Arrow Making on Consoles-It can easily be added!

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:21 pm

By default, you cannot craft arrows in Skyrim. However, there are mods on the PC that allow you to do so by simply having the corresponding ingot for the type of arrow you wish to make and 2 pieces of firewood. Not only does it seem incredibly simple for Bethesda to implement this in consoles(as well as on PC) with a patch, but this would also drive players to become further involved in the woodcutting/ wood chopping aspect of the game.

What do you guys think? I hope that Bethesda takes note of this.

Fletching should definitely be included. Especially since there is a fletcher in Solitude.

So, yeah.. It would be awesome if you could give console players the ability to fletch as well, Bethesda!

Yeah, I don't know why they allow you to craft everything except arrows. Being able to make your own arrows would be really useful since that's the only item you can run out of. You only have to craft one sword, or helmet, or boots, or whatever, and you're set until you want to upgrade your gear. But it would be awesome to be able to make more arrows when you run out of them.

Only iron arrows. Why else would you ever want to take the ranger perk? I think the reason they didn't include it is to make that perk feel a little more useful (or we would just start complaining about useless perks again). Besides, as an archer fan myself, I've never ever ran short of arrows, they're pretty much everywhere. Now, if arrows had weight/encumbrance, that might actually change.

you make an absolutely great point: why would the one thing that would make the most sense to be able to create through smithing be the one left out?

makes no sense at all.

I disagree because currently there is no way to get Nord Hero Arrows.

I disagree because of other reasons... I never use the more rare arrows, because I can only ever find like 20 of them at merchants. If crafting them was possible (such as ebony arrows) I'd definitely use them more.

That too. Lately, I've stuck to using the Bound Bow just because I don't have to worry about running out of arrows.

Hi killkid85. How have you been doing?

Along with inventory-less horses, that is one of the most puzzling omissions in this game.

I like it primarily because I'd like for there to be more uses for firewood besides just improving the longbow. I'd like to see another perk added to the smithing tree that let you improve things like leather, fur, hide, iron "twice as much" (or maybe just include those in with the steel perk) and maybe include longbow in with that, so it made longbow more of a viable weapon. Then firewood would have some use beyond mere window dressing.

I think leather, fur, hide, and iron gear should be able to be improved to Legendary status just by being at level 100, considering they're the most basic types of equipment in the game.

Well I found away to get arrows I want
Spoiler
, you pickpocket a NPC that goes and shoots arrows. Wait in tell they stop and put away the bow. Pickpocket them and take what arrows they have. Replace it with any type of arrow you want. Wait in tell they start shooting again and take the arrows they shot. They shot around 5 to 8 arrows before the arrows start to disappear to be replace by a new arrow shot. So just keep taking them in tell you have as many as you need. That’s how I got over 1000 Dedric arrows, I pickpocket 3 thief guild members took there arrows and replaced them with 1 Dedric arrow each and just sit back and collect them in tell I had enough then saved just in case...

I love these little glitches that players take advantage of in TES games. Glad there are still some to be had in Skyrim.
