Attributes for a Warrior

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 3:10 pm

I made a Nord with Light Armour, One-handed (sword) and Block. I can't decide on how to place my attributes. So far I've been only adding to health for survivability but because of this I cannot do so many power attacks/shield bashes. I was wondering if I should put attribute points into Stamina as well?

I was thinking of going 1:1 Health:Stamina or maybe 2:1 Health:Stamina but I cannot decide. Thanks.

You can put points into Stamina, or you can make a bunch of vegetable soup, where you can power attack endlessly regardless of your Stamina.

I split my health and stamina for a good while. One level I put points into health and the next into stamina. Once I stopped having health issues I put extra points into Stamina since the affects Power Attacks, sprinting, and carry weight. Also every time you're in Whiterun go to the temple of Kynareth and get the blessing which will boost your stamina a good bit. At level 46 I have a good bit more Stamina than Health and it works out great. By that point armor mitigation is so high and I kill things so fast that only a very few enemies can even put a dent in my health. Oh and don't forget enchanted gear. You can get a quick stamina or health boost with gear too.

I made some vegetable soup but it says it recovers 1 Health and 1 Stamina for 720 seconds. How does that make it unlimited?

On my Warrior I like to role-play and so having more Stamina shows he's more fit. I am thinking of going 2:1 Health:Stamina at the moment because I'm in Light Armour and need some more health. Right now I've only put points into Health (I'm level 10-12 I think) as I need it for survival but I am noticing I'd like to do more shield bashing/power attacks.

I don't drink potions, wear/use enchanted gear, no magic, no range damage/attacks. It's challenging but fun and makes me feel like a "pure" warrior. I do use shouts because this character is a Nord Warrior Dragonborn and I'm doing the main quest with him. I don't consider Shouts to be in the same category as the skill tree magic.

I was thinking of doing this. I don't use enchanted items though or potions unless it's not during battle. And I only take 5 small health potions, a cure disease, and cure poison, and I've got 3 small stamina potions on me as well. I'm playing as a warrior that doesn't dabble in any magic/range as he is this brave face to face kind of Nord.

I put everything into Health with my 2-Hand warrior. He wore Hide Armor the entire game so Health helped to make up for the lack of AR at higher levels.

I usually build up my characters Stamina pool to 200, then I will invest in Health and Magicka equally until I have 150 as a Mana Pool. I then invest into Health and Stamina equally. I use Alteration on almost all of my characters, so I keep enough of a Mana Pool to Dual Cast Oakflesh, and have enough Magick left to cast a healing spell or two as necessary. The ability to keep an opponent in Stun Lock can eliminate the need for a large reserve of health.
I do use foods to boost Stamina regeneration on lower levels, I like Venison Stew instead of Vegetable soup, but the end effect is the same.

I stick to 3 Health to 2 Stamina. I dont use food or enchantments, just haven't gotten around to it. Also, the stamina regen enchantment seems really weak, like there are stronger enchantments that can be bought.

For my warrior, I do a health-to-stamina ratio of 5:1.

I tend to 300 magika, 500+ health, & 300 stamina. For DWs I put a bit more in to stamina thsn magika.

I've just reached lvl 40 with my second warrior (Sword and shield) and so far i have split mine evenly between health and stamina.

Health becomes less on an issue later against melee characters as your armour class and blocking skill increases plus mages are not so much of a big deal with good elemental resist equipment.

I like a high stamina pool for my shield bashes and knockdowns. You can also get good items for increasing your health or stamina - rings, necklace and armour etc.

I play on master btw.

I have such a hard time finding leeks that my soup supply is very limited.

Isn't there a lot of farms with leeks? I wouldn't really know as I've never tried cooking though.

i do fine at level 49 with only 140 stamina, granted i have more health than i could reasonably need, but stamina's only use is shield bashing heavy hitters during thier power attacks, and busting blockers with power attacks. stamina regins enough that you probably can wait a few seconds to get enough stamina back for an attack. i would raise it super high

There may be but my Nord warrior would never consider stealing from a farmer. My less honorable characters would have no such qualms, but they don't need to spam power attacks, so they spend their time stealing more lucrative items.

They aren't stolen if the text isn't red. Some sort of co-op, or hippie commune, or something.

To answer the OP's question, all health, no real reason to put points anywhere else.

I play with no HUD so I cannot read the text, but even if I could, it would not feel right taking the farmers crops, red flagged or not. Now harvesting it for the farmer and then being paid for your work, well that is okay, but my Nord warrior is too haughty to stoop to paid farmwork. I wish there was a way to decline payment because he is kind hearted (at least towards his fellow Norda) and might help a farmer out on occassion. But no way is he going to become a fieldworker for hire.

depends COMPLETELY on what difficulty you are playing on.

with master you need health ONLY at early levels or you will die a lot and reload often.

on master, i get health up to 200 before even thinking of stamina. i then get health up to 300 before stamina reaches 200. i end up with stamina around 300 max, zero in magic and the rest in health.

for lesser difficulties it doesn't really matter. focus on health a bit, then, stamina. the gap doesn't need to be as large.

Even with say 250 health, you can still get 1 hit killed OR you can 1 hit kill anything. I now have 200+ Sta , Health, Magic and play mostly as a warrior Sword/Board.

STA REGEN enchantment helps a lot. I do Health regen, sta regen and magic regen on as many items as possible. Even with Frost resist and sta regen, NPC magic is cheap so I still need STA potions when fighting anything that freezes.

Fire enemies are worthless unless they do the cheap explosion spell.

Frost still hurts if I'm in direct line of fire, hard to time the block with the wonky first person chaos cam fight
