The patch caused my game to freeze up anytime my character entered water on the PS3. Apparently reinstalling the game data fixes this issue so that's what I'm in the process of doing now.

Ran into the exact same problem after starting a brand new character.

I haven't re-installed anything yet. What does that entail?

If you're having the water freezing problem, just do like I do and use whirlwind sprint to cross the rivers of skyrim.

Go to the Game Data Utility in the playstation menu, delete the Skyrim data (don't delete the save data), and then Skyrim will reinstall when you run it again. All your saved games will still be there so don't worry about that.

I can confirm that doing this fixed my freezing issue.

so I delete skyrim game data before I even "Start" the game?
