I have not played the beta, I do not have or know exact numbers on how much magicka vampire lord powers will consume or even if your characters gear (magicka regen) will stack with Vampire Lord form. Unfortunately we can only assume that it is like the werewolf, nothing stacks over except your health (and stamina?) as you gain 100 more hp in the form.
So here is something some may want to think about before deciding on there Dawnguard vampire character build.
-Vampire Lord form carries both your health, magicka and stamina over. Confirmed by this Power of the Grave—50 bonus points to health, magicka, and stamina as Vampire Lord
-All these abilities require magicka that I know for %100 fact, obviously there are more abilities you get that you would assume require magicka but I don't know for certain without seeing it for myself.
- Vampire Grip—Blood Magic: Can pull a creature to you from distance, and do choking damage once it's close.
- Summon Gargoyle—Conjure up some help in battle with one of these menacing monsters.
- Corpse Curse—Paralyze your foes with this magical blast.
With that said, again we don't know if magicka regen gear carries over and nothing is stated anywhere about Vampire Lords getting a natural mana regen. Also we or at least myself does not know if you can even cast spells outside of Blood Magic (spells you get as a Vampire Lord) while in VL form.
if your like me you will obsess over this, and will constantly read or post on the forums hoping a competent beta tester will have this kind of technical information. In the process running into several spoilers and making the game that much less exciting when it comes out.
To avoid that ^, I personally am going to assume the Vampire Lord is just werewolf form which literately only your characters stats carry over nothing else at all.
You can play this game however you want, your not competing online in 2200+ arena's in WoW, your just playing a singleplayer TES game. However you should keep in mind Magicka = Vampire Lord which does not necessarily mean you make a Glass Cannon low hp high magicka pure mage exactly either. It means to keep some Magicka in mind with your characters build.
Any thoughts or discussion or input appreacited
EDIT: Bat Teleport power does require Magicka, I really do not want to haft to make a caster character, would take so much time to get him where id want him personally before starting Dawnguard.

@2:17 you see a pure warrior build with no points in magicka what so ever, 150 magicka 750 hp 390 stamina. without Power to the Grave you minus -50 on all three stats. The character build it shows before that is level 29 at 410 magicka, 340 hp, 220 stamina. A hybird class, which is what I think I am going to go for with my level 21 warrior who has done a lot of stuff ingame already (no power leveling yet).
