Do you think the first major DLC will be announced before Di

The big D is just around the corner, and it may cause many Skyrimers to defect and forget all about the DLC. I think it would make good business sense to announce the DLC before then to get gamers excited before they lose themselves to Blizzard's blockbuster.

What do you think?

I think that Skyrim's audience is a little different than Diablo's. Not that there isn't some overlap, but the fact alone that Skyrim is a single person game vs. Diablo's heavy emphasis on multiplayer causes a high degree of separation. Plus, chances are that if you love Skyrim enough to buy a $20 DLC you'll find the money to pay for it at some point, even if Diablo III delays it for a month or two.

To actually answer the thread's topic question, I think the first major DLC will be announced before Diablo III, as we've been told big things are coming in April, and it's been five months since launch, I'm sure Bethesda has something in mind andall they need to do is let us in on it.

I agree with Ravenius, Diablo players are a very different breed from Skyrim players, I feel it will have a lot less impact on Skyrim play numbers that you might think.

... Never played Diablo, only ever heard about it twice or so. In other words, Bethesda has nothing to worry about.

A console peasant? Really, you have to stoop as low as to insult console owners because I HAVEN'T HEARD OF A VIDEO GAME?

I'm not a big RPG gamer. I dont stick to any one genre. I understand that, in some cases, the PC can provide a better experience - the Sims, for example. But consoles are in NO WAY inferior to PCs, and I speak as a person who owns and plays games on both.

As for the 'perfection' that is Diablo, its good that you enjoy it. I could say that Skyrim reaches this 'perfection' because it's an amazing world and I've run into almost no bugs. Bethesda has done better than whoever made Diablo for the simple reason that the average, casual gamer such as myself has heard of Skyrm but not Diablo.

Edit: also noticed that Skyrim received better reviews on release than Diablo 2. So 'bug free perfection' =/= A better video game.

Don't you mean Baby's First Coloring Book 3: How Diablo was ruined.

Anyway, I always thought the Diablo games were kind of overrated. They got by on being associated with Blizzard in the PC golden age. Now Blizzard is just one of two reasons Activision hasn't imploded yet.
