Skyrim=perfect video game realism

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 7:37 pm

This can be tossed into the "why we don't necessarily like realism in our video games" argument. Feel like this is the culture of gaming to the T.

Anyone else have their own humorous examples?

The funny thing is that containers in Morrowind had "encumbrance" limits. You couldn't fit 100 objects into a barrel in that game (unless they weighed next to nothing).

...ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wookiee from the planet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endor_%28Star_Wars%29. Now think about it; that does not make sense!

Why would a Wookiee, an 8-foot-tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of 2-foot-tall http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ewok? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammatical_conjugation the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emancipation_Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.

Pfft, that's not that bad. You should see how many greatswords I have in a "small sack" up at the college.

Chewey is a pedophile. All them advlt Ewoks look and feel like little Wookies. Chewey doesn't run into any legal trouble on Endor.

Realism is for simulators, not for games that are played for fun :hehe:

And yes, i'm sure some people find simulators fun, but i dare say that most would not.

So let me store a heavy armor into a coin purse and swing around a sword twice my size like it weighted nothing ^_^

Indeed. Realism in games can really make an interesting game (e.g. Farcry 2), but it can also make the game tedious/difficult to the point were some gamers get tired of it (e.g. Farcry 2).

well they couldn't have children crying because they can't put their ten smithed daedric suits of armor into a small sack now could they! Almost as unthinkable as being able to smith daedric armor in the first place! oh wait
