Has anyone discovered all 531 locations on the map yet?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:37 am

If you tally up all the locations that can be discovered on the map you get with the strategy guide book they come to 531. I don't use this map to find the locations but it at least it lets you know how many there is to find on the map. So far I have found around 240 and I've been playing the game for 150 hrs. So has anyone managed to find all the locations on the map yet just by exploring but without using the strategy guide map to help them find them?

Good lord! 531 locations? I thought I was doing pretty damn good at >250!
I'm sure that has to be a mistake. My map can barely fit anymore icons

I don't think all the locations show up on your map. I have stumbled across several places lately that do not give me a marker, but are places of some interest. The Online map from the Prima Guide might show all the places, I have not checked that in quite a while.

531? Isn't that a bit overkill?
My map is filled to the rim.

This sort of thing I totally don`t do. And don`t care to know about.

I don`t count how many cities are places there are then try to number and find them. I hate knowing exactly how many places there are- It makes exploration redundant. Ans RPGs are about exploring the unknown!

I explore and see what comes up, that`s far more enjoyable.

330 will show up on your map as an icon just to sort out any confusion.only small camp sites, huts and things like burial ruins won't show up on your map

In the strategy guide, there are primary locations and secondary locations.
The OP said there are 531 locations, but I think he counted the secondary locations in, also. Secondary locations don't show up as fast travel-able locations.

I don't think there is enough space for 531 places.

On the other hand, it helps completely invalidate the argument of the world being "Small and Empty", knowing that there is THAT MUCH to find when you go out and explore.

There's a total of 356 map locations. 346 is the amount of map markers you have to discover. Add to those the nine holds which are already on the map from the very beginning, plus Helgen.

edit: scratch that, I have just verified that the nine holds do not count as discovered even though they appear on the map from the very beginning

Level 44, 300 hours, 190 in-game days passed and 277 locations discovered. I still have a long way to go. Stats say 109 dungeons cleared...anyone remember how many of those there are? I'd better get on it. :D

That's awesome but I've found 254 places so it's good to know there are plenty more.

I just did a quick count in the CK, and there are 397 map markers defined in the vanilla Skyrim data set.

Now, some of them will only show up if you go through certain quests, mainly the war campaign but one should be able to unlock all of the 397.

WARNING, SPOILER ALERT:
If you are interested, i uploaded a XLS file on my server with a list and the individual cell coordinates.

IIRC there are roughly 350 primary locations, which have map markers, and another 200 or so secondary locations, which do not have map markers.
