Scrap auto reload.

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:04 pm

When I jump off High Hrothgar with Whirlwind Sprint, it's my MISSION to make it to the bottom! In the heat of battle on a DiD character, if I die I WANT to know if Lydia avenged my death! I think it's completely bogus how the game auto reloads you practically instantly! As a console palyer, this is bogus! I do have Skyrim on PC, but it's too laggy for me so I need to wait to play it.(at least I can play New Vegas...) My petition is that auto reload save should be scrapped, or at least have the option to disable it! How hard is it to load a previous save? Is it really necessary that it has to be done automatically?

It's a really simple feature. Hell, you could outsource this to somebody and pay them 5 dollars to do it. All it is is changing a variable to 602894092384093284902483204823044 seconds for the auto reload, or to just disable it. I don't know if disabling it is easy as extending it to infinity though.

Anyone else support?

PS its not really a forum petition, more of an idea. Should have chose a different name since petitions are technically not allowed on this board. I wish I could edit topic titles.

It's a moderately annoying feature, I'll agree, but as far as whether or not action will be taken we're probably just barking at the moon.

I dont get it. You want the game to keep playing without you in it? Like a movie?

True enough, it's a fairly small issue but hey, smaller ones like this can most likely be resolved via hotfix rather than needing to put it in a patch. I'm sure someone at Bethesda whose drunk could do this before heading home at 2:30 AM.

I don't see how auto reload is annoying, also I don't see the point in removing it, this thread is somewhat pointless.

You can desable them, you can also go back and delete your previous auto saves.

And I don't even know what to say about your idea, it's just that confusing, you want to have Auto saves removed from the game? That, sir, is completely illogical!

Auto reloads genius, not auto saves.

I NEVER said scrap auto saves. I said auto reloads. When you die, the game auto reloads after just a few seconds. Darn, late to the party. Ah well.

Aphaea:Yeah pretty much. It makes for meaningful DiD playthroughs and besides, who wouldn't want to know if your follower killed that pesky dragon or not?

There's a mod for that. I subscribed for it on Steam a while ago.

Trust me, once my PC is capable of handling Skyrim, that is the FIRST mod I'm downloading. However that won't be for a little while.
