you should sacrifice yourself for posting spoilers in the general section.

You can sacrifice whoever you want that follows you. Choose an obnoxious follower or someone that you helped only for a purpose (i.e. a reward or getting the Thane title) but you dislike.

NO NOT LYDIA!
Well, it's your cal, but I personally wouldn't sacrifice her. She's too awesome. How about Marcurio in Riften?

He's arguably the best follower, so I wouldn't go for him. Lydia isn't a bad choice as there are 5 or 6 other identical housecarls with the same stats.

Faendal/Sven are the best choices though IMO, they don't even past 25 and are pretty shoddy.

I found Lydia voice quite unnerving. I prefer Jordis from Solitude. A good candidate is the girl from Darklight tower: a decent mage but certainly not the best one.
Spoiler
Besides, she asks the hero to help her kill her own mother, was raised in a den of witches and now she lives in a deserted tower. Nobody will miss her!

I think that might be the easiest way for a good character to do that quest. Thanks for the tip. ;p

I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers Jordis :)
