Remaking my Main Character

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 4:24 pm

It's come to my attention as I play my main character that he isn't exactly what I wanted him to look like. There are some things I messed up. He isn't to far into the game, around level 16. The reason that he is so low is because I was trying to get my new character an assassin to level 16 and had to spend time on my secondary character getting him also to level 16.

I really like my main character. And I'm sort of not sure if I should remake him. But I see all the possible things I can fix. His face is kind of squashed in and I'd like to make it less squashed. I'd also like to make his expression look less waxy and bored all the time.

Has anyone been in this dilemma? Where they realize the things they can do now versus when they originally made their character. Should I remake my main character to befit my vision?

Open console
Type ShowRaceMenu
Configure
???????????
Profit

Just make sure not to change race, as the stats will reset. And all your current active effects will disappear when you use that command, so you may want to re-add your racial power through yet a command.

If you're on console, tough luck. I guess you'll have to decide what's more important then, character or looks.

Hehe  I was exactly in the same situation as you,I created a new character but it was my main character just he looks different and i didnt side with the blades this time. You are not alone. And its always fun to just play the game again.

if you're on consoles, you can exploit helgen and/or the trade skills to get to level 16 in about 30-60 minutes and NOT use the trade skills for your character in-game.

I'm on a console. I wish I played on the PC. Everything about my character is right, curious adventure, lead by a dog and his strong man side kick. Instead of enchanted robes I gave him enchanted clothes. But I also have a certain image in my head that he isn't befitting at the moment and it throws me off from time to time. I don't generally play in third person. However, during dialogue I like to switch to third person. It feels better that way.

Don't worry. I'm on PC and I've already remade (and deleted) my main char 2 times. When some mods are released I'll try a 3rd (and definitive) time.

By now, I'm using my current failure to test all the minimally interesting mods I see. Turned out to be pretty profitable :) (I've already added 4 mods to my list of essential ones).

there's nothing you can do since your playing on console, though you said you weren't far in so it shouldn't be to much of a chore to start over. I've done the same thing my self.

Well, ugly people need a place to live too. If you really like the character, I wouldn't waste it away. I played the same butt-ugly Dunmer I wasn't real happy with for about 120 hours. Then I realised I could change him with the commands, and he's quite handsome now, for a Dunmer.

Yeah I decided I'll recreate him. Sad times sad times. I'll have to refine Meeko, I found him by complete accident.

yes, you can. you can exploit the crafts to get to level 16 very quickly and not use them in-game.

Well, I can't stand it if mine doesn't look "just right". You will probably have this character into the 40s levels at least, so restarting at 16 isn't that big a deal.

This is what I do now. At the beginning of the game, I save it just as the horse theif prisoner runs off and they shoot him with arrows. It's right before the guy says "Who are you?" That saves me from having to do the buggy ride again if I want to start over. THEN I play the new character just until you can look at him in third person, which if you are following Rolof, is when you get into the keep. The light is poor, but I look at him anyway, and if he looks ok there, I keep going. When we finally exit out into the daylight, I carefully look again. If I don't like what I see, I reload to the part where the guy is running away again. It all seems like a lot of time lost, but if you are picky about your character's look, it's worth the time.

Nevermind. I wasted a thread making. I changed the lighting and got Deimos out of the dingy cavern and he looks pretty cool looking. And I was like, I want to adventure with this character. Instead I remaking my second main character Grave. A high elf illusion, alteration, and conjuration user. I changed my avatar to my reference inspiration image of Grave. But I never got him down to how I truly imagined him on my first play through and I finally found him through my list of a 200 something saves and went, omg I thought I lost you, but I need to remake you. You just don't look badass enough.
