Retiring from Skyrim untill all the patches come out

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:30 am

Going to stop playing Skyrim for the time being until the patches stop coming, I don't want to risk messing up my save or my character by doing something or not doing something based on bugs that get fixed or new features added. Is anyone else thinking of doing the same, or are you all just not too bothered with it?

Also, soul trapping and enchanting is eeeeeevil.

I haven't really suffered any bugs, but I know a lot of them have work arounds.

If you're on PC, you could get the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, I know this fixes a lot of bugs. I've got it, but that's just to make sure I don't get any :)

I've not suffered from a lot of bugs, but working around them factors into a lot of my decision-making in this game, and I don't want to use a precious, precious perk point if that perk is going to be made redundant by any sort of rebalancing in a future patch.

Nah, I will stick with it as it goes.

Although I am expecting FO3 to arrive soon, either tomorrow or day after, so hopefully when I am done with that (got the GOTY edition, never played FO before, trying not to look anything up at all, I found it spoiled Skyrim for me when I already knew most things.) the Skyrim DLC will be around the corner. :D

The unnoficial patch mod has worked awesomely for me. Many of the lingering problems are solved. I feel for you, 360 & PS3 owners.

I'm an Xboxer and Have had no problems (Except not being able to finish Thieves Guild on one Character)
Hopefully they will find out some way to get mods to Console gamers. But who I REALLY feel for is the PS3 owners...

I'm going to play again eventually, just going to wait for all the patches to come out or at least the majority of them.

Nah, I'm going to keep slogging away. Thankfully I haven't really experienced any game breaking bugs; a little framerate stutter here and there in the past and a couple of freezing issues. But 1.5 seems to be stable enough. I'm on PS3 also.

I felt the same when I found out I had too many items I couldn't drop because they were mission related. All of them were objects I found randomly exploring dungeons, forts, etc.

Don't you think you should have waited for the GotY edition if this was going to be a problem for you? I mean it's an open-world Bethesda game. You knew there would be bugs, didn't you?

Me? I've had a few bugs but nothing major. I'll keep at it, thanks.

Same here, I doubt I'll play Skyrim again until the GOTY edition comes out. I never had anything major occur while playing but I'm not going to tempt fate.

Good luck. You don't sound like one of them, but I hope you don't end up haunting this forum to complain all day long like so many other 'too many bugs" guys. I haven't encountered any game-breaking bugs yet. I've only had on crash in 160 hours and counting. I'm also playing on the 360.

I'm more focused on making my character beforehand so I can relax about it while playing the game. I did complain a lot about ash piles though.

Um ... ok.

Honestly I play so many characters that if a new big patch came out tomorrow I'd just start a new Role-Play, as I always have about a half dozen waiting in the bullpen.

Homestly, I haven't played it in months. Have been a lot of games coming out that have stolen my attention, but I'm getting a PC that'll be capable of running Skyrim so hopefully that will change.

I feel for you though OP. I stopped playing after the magic resistance bug.

I still haven't dl'd the patch for that.

Oblivion and Morrowind didn't have a limited resource when it came to levelling up except attribute points which I never understood.
