Giant: I used to obey physics like you...

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:31 am

and I take it you all know the rest

saw a giant pretty much at the cut off zone of stuff popping up on screen

pulled out my daedric bow with steel arrows (shops stock nothign better ...)

took a random quick shot next thing i know the giant is 10,000 miles upwards falling away from me

I find the corpse upside down (had my video cam running for this then turn it off to loot it forgetting to check where the arrow landed)

so after camera off i noticed i was missing an arrow

sure enough even tho i looted the giant theres an arrow sticking out of the knee joint ...

so does hitting things in between where the joints are glitch them and send them flying like a rocket?

any one else launch a giant upward?

I saw a steel battle axe way up in the sky amd thought I could make it fall by FRDing. It blew it up further in to the sky. So I saved and reloaded and it loaded up on the ground next to the dead bandit as it should. The physx engine is causing all sorts of nasties that never happened before. Maybe we should all go back to using Havok.

When I'm on my Thief and sneak-killing people, they will go up a few feet in the air, then play the generic Non-ragdoll staggering death, then fall back to the ground. Annoying at best. -.-
Oh, and paralyze a giant while its running :)
Your welcome.

LOL

On PC, early in the scene (about level 15) I witnessed a Dragon vs Giant battle just North of Whiterun. I watched, then stuck an arrow into the dragon to finish it off. I thought the Giant would wander off to its camp. It then decided that I had spoiled its kill and came after me. Best tactic, arrow, back up, arrow, back up, arrow, back up, rinse and repeat. If you get stuck on a rock, arrows as fast as possible before the giant gets to you.

I was by myself at the time and thought much along the lines of the quoted post. The Giant went down just as he was about to do the Launch on me.

I've been hunting giants since level one long range + sprint + running behind trees / trying to climb rocks the giant must walk around at low levels = you stay alive
