Anyone else not feeling the imperial legion's uniforms in Skyrim?...In Oblivion they looked more like medieval Knights, I think they should have kept that style...the whole roman legionnaire thing is a little offputting, not to mention, already done in fallout new vegas..................what do you think?

Hmm, I think it is more fitting for the imperial legion. It was kind of strange that a romanesque culture in oblivion had no roman-style armor.

That being said I do like the oblivion/morrowind imperial armor style more.

I quite like it myself. It's like the old Roman epic films from the 60's.

I just wish they would wear more heavy armour.

Actually, this is what the fans wanted. I remember reading the forums this time a few years ago and people were asking they make the Legion more similar to how they were in Morrowind with that Roman like feel.

I love how they look in this game, they just need pants. I think the Romans in real life wore pants in the colder climates of Northern Europe.

I like it very much that they returned to use the roman style in their armors. Oblivions armors weren't bad but they were something I think only Cyrodiils legionaires have. Roman uniforms are fitting better for the imagination I have about the Imperial legions (that's probably so because Morrowind was first one I played in TES series). Anyway I wouldn't claim Oblivions armors looking like medieval Knights - for me they seemed to have a lot of influence from Ancient Greece.

I read somewhere that they weren't allowed to have trouser legs that went below the knee. Must've been cold in northern germany

I like that they went back to the "classic" Roman feel. I wish that they had retained the original ranks from Morrowind as well (so that I could become Knight of the Imperial Dragon. Again.)

I rather like the look. The legion armor in oblivion had slight roman-inspired elements such as the protective leather strips around the waist and the crested helmets of the Imperial City guard; but it seemed a bit bulky and impractical, and too radically different from what we saw in Morrowind. I should also mention that the roman military style for Cyrodils has been around at least since Morrowind, and in Morrowind, the similarities were greater (Rectangular shield with laurel wreath painted on; muscle cuirass..)

They look like they did in morrowind, and I kind of like it that way. They looked silly to me in Oblivion.
