Fallout "speech" skill was way more useful

In skyrim speech is completely useless. It has no purpose other then to get slightly better Prices from merchants. In fallout it gave you interesting options and was really cool! I always leveled up speech in fallout. In skyrim I have not yet to. I just think if skyrim adopted the speech system from fallout it would be a lot more cooler and make me and a few others want to invest in perks

Mass Effects simple Paragon and Renegade system gives you more speech options than Skyrim's Speechcraft.

Depends on the fallout. New Vegas? Yes, I likes that system. If Fallout 3's was adopted I wouldn't mind, but I prefer Vegas' way. But saying speech is nearly useless is a lie, as just like in Fallout it allows you access to things you couldn't have accessed otherwise.

I really didn't like Fallout 3's. You can have a 6 speech with a 4% to pass and do, and you can have a speech of 100 with a chance of 97% and still fail. I hate that. New Vegas has completely different dialogue if you don't meet the requirements, which is really awesome.

Yea sorry when i said fallout I did mean new Vegas. Fallout 3 I didn't particularly like. But it's still better then skyrim. But fallout 3 is a bit more realistic. Because in a real life if your a terrible liar you still have a tiny bit of a chance to get by with it. Ala fallout 3

I enjoyed the New Vegas speech system and how you had to have a certain amount of speech (or even S.P.E.C.I.A.L.) or it's guaranteed a fail. I also enjoyed the Fallout Lockpicking. You had to have a certain level of Lockpicking before you could even attempt to unlock something. Unlike Skyrim where every lock is able to be easily unlocked at any level, with a terrible reward usually.
