The pop in is shocking on the consoles in general. Playing PC on ultra has a ridiculously better draw distance than consoles.

Yeah, from my experience on the PS3 I can tell you that the draw distance for consoles is pretty bad, even by their standards. On PS3, it seemed like it was drawing the grass two feet in front of me. If it's worse on 360... yikes.

Why state the obvious? As if we didn't know that already.

Well, I just went from the Xbox to the PC. It's not THAT much of a huge difference. Not even having the draw distance settings pushed all the way up. It's not until you set the uGrids to Load at 7, when it really makes a difference.

it doesn't usually bug, except for when ever i head towards that bandit camp directly NW of whiterun that has a bunch of mammoth tusks. For some reason that bandit camps takes unusually long to pop up

Comparing a High-End PC to a console from 2005, I don't think anyone will argue with you on that point. Would it be the other way around than it would be a miracle.

I haven't seen the PS3 version myself but the HD comparisons make it look worse than X360: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-face-off-skyrim

Two things are very noticable in the PS3 version (atleast in the recorded vids):

1. Jagged edges (easily visible when seeing any object with a background behind it (NPC with wall, etc).

2. Lower resolution distant landscape textures

Again, I haven't actually seen the PS3 version with my own eyes but I always thought it was a general consensus that the X360 version looked better. Around here everyone also seems to be angry at Bethesda for releasing the PS3 with so many technical issues.

Yeah I see that on my xbox. It too has problems. EG low fps in certain areas. At the moment I'm stuck at what to do. Do I upgrade my pc or wait for the next gen consoles? I just really hope the new consoles will be powerful. That way PCs won't be generations ahead as they are now. Witcher 2 for example has stupidly better graphics on pc than console. Just check out a comparison on youtube by a guy called Robbaz.

Just saying. My xbox does have poor draw distance. Not sure about the ps3 being better though. I'd have to see side by side footage as it isn't very clear cut.

Pop in is just an essential part of optimization. Even the PC has pop in, it's just much less apparent with a high-end rig.
