Change the video output resolution? Your tv is probably not using widescreen 16:9 ratio, but rather 4:3 if it's is oldskool. You should have options in the menu of the game to switch.

Edit: spelling.

PS3: 720p
Xbox 360: 680p

well it depends on what system you playing it on. if its 360 there is actually a way to change the resolution settings on you console to match you tv which can help with your overall clarity. however, since you have an older tv, i dont think there will be anything you can do to completly clear up the picture to make it easier to see.

I use an Asus VH236H monitor for my PS3. 1920x1080 resolution at full 1080p HD. You can buy one for less than $200

Yeah, PS3 has menu options to set the output to SD/HD/etc, too. (Managed to play Final Fantasy 13 on an SD TV, before I got my PC monitor.... wow, was that text small. :D)

I use my computer monitor for Skyrim for both Xbox and PC version and I personally think its great. Less eye strain than my 52", plus you can be in front of a monitor whereas you can't with a TV.

I'd say it was made for any computer monitor or Flatscreen/HDTV.

He's not looking to clear up his picture. He is having aspect ratio issues which are cutting off the text in the corners. Not having this game for a console, I don't know what his options menu looks like, but he needs to go from 16:9 to 4:3.
