Want to get back into Skyrim...

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 10:48 am

So I really wanted to play and get into Skyrim when it came out but after about 2 weeks I got bored of it.

I really want to get into it again but I'd rather just play Fallout 3 or/and FNV.

I got to the part where
Spoiler
you get the elder scroll and complete the shout, beat the dragon ect. But it gets so boring.

Is there anything you guys can suggest to get me back Into it?

Huh, I'm surprised that you aren't bored with FO3 too, since they both have their focus on exploration.

But OT: Have you tried rp'ing something? That could work.
But other than that.. I don't know...

If you don't really want to play Skyrim, you shouldn't force yourself to. Just stick with FO3 and FNV.

No, you see a 'want' to play it, I just find it difficult to get into.

If you find it difficult to get into then you don't like it that much, and therefore shouldn't play it.

Not necessarily, I could not get into Fallout somepoint last year, I played it again today and am loving it. It's the same as a good book, I find if I can't get into it I put it down for a while, then when I pick it up I enjoy it. To answer the OP, normally I would suggest roleplaying but you stated that you didn't enjoy RPing, so maybe instead of just questing all the time take some time to explore the world. I don't know if that is what you do already but if not then give it a try.

I know it seems like I don't like it but I 'want' to like it. That's why I'm asking you guys if there is any way to make it feel better.

I had this problem with oblivion. I loved fallout 3 and knew my uncle loved Oblivion so I got the game of the year edition on xbox and tried playing it and just couldn’t get into it.

Once skyrim came out I decided to try skyrim and loved it after that I decided to get oblivion on the pc for $12 and see if mods could help with mods like MMM/Vilja /midas /combat mods/ect..I found myself loving the game.

So anyway if you got a pc that can handle skyrim after taking a break from the game(if you feel like you need too) I would definitely see about installing mods that could be the thing that helps you get into the game

Yeah.. I'm not the biggest fan of RP.

And yet that's half the fun of any Elder Scrolls game. Just looting the dungeon isn't much fun. It won't be fun for you if you're not having fun right now. Try stepping away from Bethesda's games for a while, maybe you're just jaded and want to try something new, but you just don't know it.

I play other games too. Modern Warfare 3, LA Noire, Far cry 2 and Borderlands mainly.

well no if you don′t like roleplaying and appears that you are more into Guns that swords so you shouldn′t be forcing yourself into playing it

Well you could try reading Elder Scrolls novels(Lord of Souls,Infernal City), they might get you into a "ES mood".

That's what I was going to say. I personally found the main quest fairly blah, but the Thieves Guild questline was far more my cup of tea. You have to think of it like a library - there are lots of different stories there, you just have to find the one that appeals to you the most. :)

Asking others about a thing that you "want" to like ?
What the hell..they call that maschism, don't you know ?

No one can have the knowledge of your tastes and priorities better than yourself.

However i suggest you to play it freely, exploring and do only what you like in the game -if you "have to play it" of course
The Main Quest isn't the best thing of the game after all,you know..you can even avoid it totally.
