Questions about Conjure Flaming Familiar, scale \ incre

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 7:57 am

I wonder if Conjure Flaming Familiar scale up?
This is what I read on the web "The flaming familiar's explosion deals fire damage in an area, comparable to a Fireball."

So my questions are:
  • Will the fire damage increase as I level for the flaming familar?
  • By putting points in the Destruction sign, increasing fire damage by 50%, will this have any effect with the flaming familiar?
If none of the above, oh well - that would just make me very sad because this spell is so unique, nothing like it!
So I would be very sad to not have it viable for higher levels.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx-68pIHN_0 - Then you'll see the awesome flaming familiar.

I don't think it levels with you, as for the destruction perks effecting it... that's a good question.
I would love to have the regular familiar spell level with you, I love the spectral wolf but sadly it's weak as a kitten.

If you are on PC and use Better Magic, the spell is absolutely game-breaking. I had to stop using it. On Master difficulty it would one-shot basically anything up to Master warlocks. I killed, with one spell, the following enemies at various times: snowy sabre cat, snowy cave bear, chaurus reaper, bandit marauder, spriggan matron, and I two-hit a Master Necromancer (who had at least 25% magic resist).

It one-hit me with 50% magic resist and 220 health. All this for a measly 10 mana.

Exactly- no scaling here either, and it is such a dissappointment. Why even bother animating our wolf and making him have a nice summoned howl when he is just an embarrassment and a waste.
