Poachers Axe

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:41 am

I've decided to make a new set of bows for my ranger and wanted to know if the enchant gained from this item also applies to dragons? Thought I'll ask here as I couldn't find anything on the wiki/UESP.

I haven't disenchanted it yet as it's a unique item and I generally like to collect these things. There is also I bow I believe (The Huntsman something) that has a similar effect and does anyone know if that too can be d/e? Pretty sure I also have that but thought I'll ask anyway before checking myself.

That axe is the only one that has this enchantment.

Also, 3 points of extra damage to animals does not seem like it would be of any benefit in a dragon fight, if it even applies.

You can disenchant it. From what you said though, do you mean that the effect is always a static 3 points?

So no matter what my enchanting skill or using any potions or gear to fortify enchanting it'll always be 3 points? Guess I'll keep it on my wall then. Also just wanted to know if dragons fell into the animal category, didn't think they did but wanted to check anyway.

No the points of damage is tied into your enchanting skill, ie. the better at enchanting you are the higher the enchant damage will be, I have a bow with it and it's doing 40 points extra damage to animals.

Not true, there is a cave that's the home to a troll and it's guarding a bow with the title of " the hunters bow" or something along that line.( the cave is around the Rifton area, that's all I'm sayen :whisper: )

I would have hoped that the points would increase with the enchanting skill, but was not sure.

As to what items have it, somebody needs to update the Wiki as this says only one item has it......

Yeah that's all I got the wiki, I think "Huntsman Prowess" would be the name of the enchantment. The bow has a similar effect but cant be disenchanted it seems, guess that one stays on my wall. Thanks for the info all.

They really should cause there's also the " Bow of the hunt " which has a stronger version of the poacher's axe enchantment.
