Whats the funniest, coolest, craziest Radient A.I. incident

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:45 am

Mine was where I saw a group of bandits out on the tundra who were just finishing off three imperials as I arrived who were escorting a prisoner. The prisoner was running away only to be set upon by a Sabrecat who having killed the prisoner suddenly turned and ran off down the side of the path behind some rocks.

I jumped up a rocky crag to stay out of it all only to see the bandits run off in the direction the Sabrecat had. Hoping for some Sabrecat on Bandit action I jumped down, crossed the path and climbed the rocks on the other side.

There I saw a dead Sabrecat and five bandits attacking two Giants and a Mammoth.

It made me laugh because its always the Mammoths that seem the angriest in these situations.

Anyway, the giants pinged each bandit into the heavens with their clubs and then carried on like nothing had happened after the last guy was dead.

I love this game.

I'm not really sure the best way to explain this is lets see (first of let me say this is more bug the a radiant ai thing)

SPOILERS
I got one of the random quests to go to a dungeon and when I got there I was nearing the end of it and I started to hear some NPCs fighting I was like what the hell, well the more I listen I began to realize that I was hearing a daedra talking and fighting so I get to where the fighting is happening and low and behold it's Sanguine from the Night to Remember Quest for some reason the portal to his daedric relm never closed and apparently he doesn't take to kindly to people being in that dungeon because he moped the floor with them, he was still friendly to me which I thought was cool until I came of up with the smart idea of going back into is portal it was then that I realized that I did not have the same gift of going back and forth as he did .

The argonian named deep-in-his-cups (I think) I met on the road. I don't want to spoil anything but I have him the 10 k he was asking for. That made me lol.

Edit: the way riften citizens go crazy when a thief appears is nice.

I finished tanning some leather and I became over encumbered.

I dropped a shield.

I start to run off and some NPC picks up the shield and hands it back to me. "Oh, you must have dropped this."

I'm over encombered again. Dangit.

On my way to Winterhold I spotted a snow sabre cat lieing in the moddle of the road just outside of town.
While Lydia disstracted it I ran to the rocks to get to safety,oh good I'm thinking I can just pelt it with fire balls now.
Not so,once Lydia had taken a knee the sabre cat ran behind and waited behind another rock so I couldn't hit it.
I tried unsucsessfully for several minutes to figure out how to hit it.
Finally I jumped down to get its attention then it pounced on me and I was reloading again.
That seems like pretty smart AI for a sabre cat.

I got off the carriage at Riften and a dragon decided to attack. Well ok no biggie. Hit's me with fire, by the time I can see again, Lydia is running down the road yelling "slay it, slay the dragon". I can see the light from the dragons flame over in the direction of the farm. So I start to run off and wham...1/2 my health is gone.. come out of the "wobbles" and see a horse running towards the Farm. All I can think is that the horse came running out of the stables and barreled me.

I had a good laugh as I ran towards the farm. Dragon was dead by the time I got within bow shot. Some dragon slayer I am.

Repost, but here goes.

The funniest encounter I've had was very early on in my game. As I walked towards a bridge there were three men and a woman on the bridge examining the corpses of two dead Sabre cats, two Redguards were walking off the brige towards me and passed me without saying a word. As I approached the woman she said something along the lines of "Damn foreigners!"

That was the best Radiant event I've seen.

Perhaps slight spoilers:

After doing the civil war questline and siding with the stormcloaks, I did i werewolf transformation in Whiterun and was attacked by the talos dude who was then killed by a stormcloak guard, (the guards were not hostile to me) the city went nuts as all the residents became hostile and the guards went on a killing spree. :)

I have seen three mages (fire, frost, and lightning) in a free for all death match on a road southeast of Whiterun. It was fun to watch. My Redguard mage cast a flame atronach to clean up the remnants. On another occaision, in the same location, I saw M'aiq the Liar being attacked by a mage. Had to jump in to help him out!

Traveling to riften for the first time in my current play through, and while trying to get to ivarstead and the nearby imperial camp, a spriggan appears. I run away and soon meet an injured man named talrav or something like that. He complained about bandits attacking him and needed help getting to a small fort overlook like 2 ft away...

Anyways I help him get there along withy favorite companion Belrand. Once there, he walks up to the npcs Chilling there, then boom! They all start attacking. At first I'm like wtf? Is telrav ok? Then after a few slashes, I notice him shooting arrows at me and my follower! It's a trap!

I had to run back to the trail and away from the multiple bandits( leveled-master difficulty). Along the way to ivarstead, mages spawned and fought the bandits, but we're unsuccessful. Vigilante of stwndarr spawned but walked away after killing a troll before they could notice the bandits. Wolves get involved with fighting the bandits, and a couple assassins and theifs try to kill me. Eventually I reached ivarstead and the guards killed the pursuing bandits with me.

However, my quest book still said Telrav was alive...

I go back (much safer now lol) and see him acting all injured. He doesn't recognize me, so I remind him and PUT. HIM. DOWN. after I discovered he killed belrand in all that commotion. Now my character drinks a lot more and tried skooma.

I was heading towards Reachcliff Cave for Eola's quest when I come upon some Thalmor Justiciars escorting a prisoner. So I go up to the prisoner and choose to free him and give him some gear. I had several Elven Daggers, so I give him one, but no spare armor I was willing to part with (certainly not giving him the Glass Boots of Brawn I was carrying but not using), so he only had his clothes. We get to fighting the Thalmor, I was taking on two of them, but the next thing I know, one of the Thalmor shoves his sword into the back of the prisoner, and it comes out his chest. At least I got the dagger back.

Mine is similar to the OP's. My (now deceased) fighter character named Thor a'Zaene was walking towards Whiterun. The road he was traveling thru had huge rock walls on each side. Thor sees a couple giants and a mammoth loitering in the middle of the road ahead. At that point, I was kinda new to the game, and wasn't sure how close I could get to giants & mammoths before they attacked, so I had Thor backtrack to see if he could get around this party of giants + mammoth.

He turns around, and behind him is a mob of bandits! 4 of them. :ninja: Uh oh. They were saying the typical bandit things, trying to intimidate me.

Thor decides he's gonna RUN towards the giants, and luckily found some sort of crag he could run up, so that he was safely above everyone. As the bandits closed in, they now had the 2 giants plus their pet mammoth to contend with!

The OP's story is funnier than mine, though. Oh well.

"Is that the best you've got"? about .5 sec before I deliver the death blow. That one always makes me laugh.

 Me too. I also like it when they say "Can't wait to count out your coin!" moments before they're finished.

Slight spoiler:

I was escaping Solitude after doing a DB questand along the way I passed by some hired thugs that stated to chase me. After I got out of Solitude I was going to kill the thugs until I realized that they where not attacking me, just following me ( must of been a glitch).

After a while me and the "thug followers" walked near one of those crappy rock traps. I stopped and walked around the fallen rock but all of the thugs and my horse died instantly from touching a staionary rock. I was completly like WTF just happened?
