Casting animations between races

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:15 pm

Hey people! I am starting a Mage this evening as I have never never ever played a Mage in Skyrim, nor in any other Elder Scroll for that matter :D Before I start I have a simple question, I have seen in some videos on youtube that Khajiits when casting some master destruction spell, well they levitate, while Bretons don't have that casting animations. So, all the races have different spell casting animations? (watching from 3rd person? ) If so, and you played multiple Mages, which race you like the best?

Also I have never played with Enchanting before and now I want to. So my question is, will I be able to get the enchant lets say from the first starting robes, 50% magica regen and such and place that enchant on my Heavy Armor? I intent to play Heavy Armor Mage, later on maybe switch to Robes..

Also can I transfer any enchant from a robe to a Heavy Armor piece?

Thanks!! Any tips you have for starting this Mage based char would be welcomed! Even something I didn't asked. Feel free to write! =)

My idea is, Destruction Mage who wears a Heavy Armor, and use a Two-Hander from time to time but he is relying on his magic most often.

1. different casting animations for races were removed after morrowind, in which argonians and khajiit had different animations. if you saw different animations chances are you saw a mod

2. you cant take the enchantment off one item and transfer it to another, you'll have to replicate the enchantment by custom enchanting the new item. once you learned an enchantment you can put it on whatever item you wish as long as the effect is allowed for said item. there are mods to remove these limitations

If you get a high enough enchanting level you can enchant destruction to cost nothing, so if your going to be a pure mage I would get arch mages robes then work your way up to high enchanting. Then get armour and enchant it. I use my magic with steel plate, nightingale gloves (+20% one handed damage) and the mask nakhriin (awarded on main quest and gives you +30 magic + 20% less magica regeneration). Also I try to use my bow and one handed is back up / anti mage.
