Reading the books on the spot instead of collecting them

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:16 pm

Hey guys. I have a question. So far my characters where collecting every book they encountered on their way, thinking " I will read this book later" but that time never came, I played 2 characters so far, came till mid 15-18 level then wanted to start over again.

Now I want to start a new Imperial guy, and I want to collect books again, but this time read them instead of just "collect them for later".
Do you think the best idea is to read them on spot, or I can buy some house with lots of bookshelves to store them and read em later in cozy surrounding at night in my fire lit room .. :)
What do you do?

Personally for me, I usually collect them to read at home by the fire. But that's just a role play aspect. Sadly, due to the many bugs with bookshelves I no longer keep them on the bookshelf but store them in the cupboard. I spent ages collecting books only to have them vanish completely when I put them on the shelf. This has happened in all of my houses.

So for now on I keep master copies in the cupboard. If I collect two of the same book I put that one on the shelf. That way if it disappears it's no big lost

I only collect books that get me skill-ups...and I read them before putting them on a shelf.

Most of my characters horde books, if I don't have it I pick it up. I stick 'em on a bookshelf, & read them at my leisure after that.
I've actually run out of shelf space across multiple houses, because of how many books I have.

Sometimes books have information relevant to where you find them...!

Imperials are pretty awesome. They find more money, & they're a good Jack of All Trades character.
Also, Voice of the Emperor is a great AoE chill pill.

I've read a few books on the spot, usually journals though. But mostly if I wanna read a book I'll pick it up and store it for later reading.

This is exactly what I do! On my characters I have stored every book for one day I will read them. I only read a few skill books or random books that look to be interesting. I have never bothered to read most of them them I have stored. It's best to read them when you find them and either store them or leave them. The only ones I'd collect are books that are sequels. Like The Wolf Queen books or Argonian Account books or something.

I usually just read them. (Not many hold my interest for long, because I honestly don't care for the writing.), or I will shelve them or decoration.

In all honesty, though, if you don't think you'll be too distracted by the quests in the game, go right on ahead and store them. If you think you will, read them on sight.
