I am making an shaman character, any ideas?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:39 pm

Race:Orc
Gender:Female
Skills:
One Handed
Light Armor (forsworn armor ftw)
One Handed
Destruction (left hand destruction magic, probably lightning most time and in the right hand a bound weapon)
Conjuration (I find the bound weapons and Atronachs look pretty shamanistic)

I also need to pick between Imperials and Stormcloaks.
I know most orcs side with the Empire, but my character feels like she is opressed and she disagrees with the banishment of Talos.

Any other ideas?

Use the Armor of the old gods instead. And go with the Imperials.

Live in the strongholds and work on alchemy also. All Orc strongholds have an alchemist and it seems to fit a shaman character.

How about enchanting instead? It seems to do well for a shaman. Alchemy is more something for a witch doctor if you ask me.
Great idea to live in a stronghold though. Thanks for that.

Since shamans often use drums to get into trance and travel to other worlds, I suggest you keep a drum in her inventory.

(I have an idea for a witch character, who definitely always will carry a broom... ;) )

Enchanting sounds good also, something to help you with more magick to keep your shock spells going.

There's brooms in Darklight Tower - thought it was an easter egg.

For a Witch Doctor/Shaman, I'd go Restoration, Illusion, Conjuration, Light Armour, Alchemy and Daedric artefacts

I think i know what skills i will do now.
I added enchanting to the skills i mentioned (i will also make use of restoration, but i don't think i will put any perks in it)
There is only one decision left...imperial or stormcloak?

I dont see how an orc shaman would choose sides in the civil war. If you would choose, go with Imperials. Chances are the stormcloaks want skyrim to be returned to the nords, which could mean the end for orc strongholds in skyrim.

Orcs would benefit most from the current state of skyrim and the stormcloaks want change.

I would prefer to stay out of the civil war really, but i always seem to become part of it sooner or later.
I will think about the sides for a while.

Wear Foresworn outfits. The antler helm looks about right.
One handed for combat using a club (mod one in if there isn't a good one in game)
Restoration, Destruction, Illusion, Conjuration all seem good.

No ranged weapons. No sneak, lock pick, backstabbing, etc. No heavy armor and I would also not use 2 handed.

But that's my view of a Shaman.

Don't get involved in the civil war. If you have done it before you know what you're missing so it shouldn't bother you too much. I have only done the civil war once across 15+ characters. Just focus on other quests this playthrough (Or no quests at all!) and do the civil war again on another playthrough. That is what I would do anyway. I hope you enjoy your new character whatever you choose to do.

Actually, I would switch the gender because from what I've seen shaman duty is typically assigned to the aged males in a tribe. Female orcs typically fill the role of wise-woman/elder. And instead of wearing all Forsworn simply scrap the helmet and just wear facepaint. You want to be a seaprate entity, wearing all forsworn just makes you look like the typical forsworn shaman that just got a really bad tan... Also, a shaman type character dosent really fit in with either of the civil war factions.... Its a bad joke... No offense, of course. Good luck.

Maybe i should just stay away from the civil war.
And i know shamans is usually a male thing, but i did female on purpose because know a roleplaying story for that.
I am also not going to wear a helmet.

Well, let's see... Based on how I view shamans as being in fantasy RPGs, they are typically tribal leaders, and thus have some influence. Definitely Conjuration and Illusion to summon/bolster allies, don't neglect alchemy, speech, and restoration (so you can heal allies).

As for more combat skills, light armor, archery (maybe), and one-handed (maybe), destruction (more likely)
