Just a few Alchemy questions.

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:17 pm

So I'm playing a Thief/Alchemist and was wondering a few things....

1.) Do the plants in the wild grow back after awhile. I assume not but would like to know.

2.) I'm not sure if it's just me or what but after taking the Green Thumb perk, why is it that when I go to take a chicken egg or any other egg or even a Chaurus Egg for that matter it gives me two. Is that intentional or not? I'm not complaining, free ingredients.

3.) And just curious, is the Nirnroot not a plant?

Thanks for any replies.

All plants grow back I think, after a short amount of time.

I don't think it's intentional, as the perk discription says 'from plants'.

Nirnroot is a plant, and I think that grows back too. (I didn't in Oblivion I don't think).

Hope I helped :)

You did, I never seem to get a second Nirnroot while having the Green Thumb perk. Oh well. :)

1. Yeah they do. Sometimes it may take awhile. I think it's like a month.

2. I don't about that one. Maybe it's part of the perk

3. Nirnroot is a plant. Yeah .. or .. wait? ..

According to UESP the crimson ninroot doesn't receive the benefit of green thumb. Not sure about regular ninroot.

Yes, all ninroot, crimson or otherwise, have grown back in my games. In fact in mid to late games you'll start seeing the "nuclear glow" from glow stacking around regular ninroots.

1 Plants grow back after 10 days, but you must remain our of that game cell for the entire ten days otherwise the counter will reset.

2 The green thumb perk says that you get two of each ingredients collected so I would assume eggs would count as well.

3 Nirn roots are plants, they are a special kind of plant that in past games never respawned. However in Skyrim they do respawn the same way all other plant life respawns.
