Clutter explosions and Poltergeist activity

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:28 pm

Does anything one else find that sometimes when you open locks or enter a room, everything explodes off of the shelves and tables and scatters all over the place? And also in taverns there is an annyoying crashing sounds in the background at all times. If so, does anyone have any idea how to stop this happening? It gets really annoying when you're trying to find an item or listen to dialogue.

It's their bad physics engine that hasn't actually changed from when it was in Oblivion.

I have seen that a couple times.

I never experienced this at all in Oblivion, and I'm on the 360. Oblvion ran smooth as ice for me. Skyrim...not so much.

You never heard dishes crashing/clanking while sitting down at a restauraunt before?

I see it as realism at it's finest

Only times it seems to happen to me is when I walk by something and knock it off a shelf or table.

Just make a new character and see if it happens on that toon as well. if not, then i guess your save might be f-ed up from updates. Just a thought

It happens on all characters :( Nothing game breaking, just a pain when your trying to listen to something interesting in a quest

My understanding, from things I've read in the past, is that there seems to be a connection between this and your frame rate. The higher your fps, the more exaggerated the physics become and the more of a problem. So on the consoles, which generally run at a lower fps, it's not generally going to be an issue. Maybe once in a while, though. However, on a PC running at a significantly higher fps, it can become an issue.

LOL i've noticed it... it's only objects I put on shelves in my house in Windhelm. I come home and everything that was neatly on the shelf is on the floor.

I find it hilarious :P

I think your right, I play on 360 and the bro plays on PC and when we get together we test bugs to see if there is a difference between PC and console. This was the first bug we tested and I had stuff fly off my table at Breezehome, he had stuff fly off the same table but at a more exaggerated rate.( he was killed by a flying cup to the head  ) Tested 3 times each and the results where the same all three times, I would have stuff fall off the table where as he would have stuff flying all over the place like shrapnel.
