New char build

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 10:06 pm

I made a new character who is going to be a member of the Dark Brotherhood. Thing is, I prefer to play combat oriented characters, but pure combat doesn't really fit with the DB in my opinion, so I thought of making a Stealth-Warrior type of guy. But if I do this, does that mean he will be a half-assed Warrior, half-assed Assassin? I was thinking of using these skills:

One-handed
Heavy Armor
Smithing
Archery
Block
Lock picking
Sneak

Are these to many skills to specialize in? Should I take away a few and just go pure combat? I'm new to Skyrim BTW, so please don't hurt me.

Also there is no way I'm changing Heavy Armor to Light Armor, as the Deadric is just too damn cool, although I probably won't be wearing Heavy Armor when doing quests for the DB.

I don't see a problem with using heavy armor with an assassin player but I wouldn't worry too much about sneak or archery it you are going that route. Your player doesn't have to be a sneaky/long range assassin but he may end up being too much of a worrior type for what you are looking for but its up to you.

Lots of people make stealth heavy armor characters. Just get some fortify sneak enchantments going and the muffled movement perk and while you won't be very sneaky early on, sneak is one of those skills that gets really strong as it goes up.

I would say Falkreath is a long way from Cheydinhal, but there was at least one brutish killer in Oblivion.

He was always yammering on about how he found sneaking around distasteful and would much rather storm in and confront his marks than sneaking around.

So I don't see any hard requirement that DB assassins be sneaky - they could certainly be more like mobster type hitmen.

That's pretty much the setup I use. Get something that will muffle your sound like a spell or boots.

I dont see a problem with that, of course you don't have to be a sneaky assasin if you don't want to :)

Muffle spell is great with heavy armor. Expensive to cast though.

That orc is a bad ass man, he talked about kiling children and would laugh "hahaha" (deep orc a-hole laugh)

You can be any type of character to play through the DB. You only have to go in there & look at the different members to see they are all different classes, from Warrior to Mage.
