Lycans: Humanoid or Beast?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:21 pm

I wanted to know if the Werewolves in Skyrim count as Humanoids (Breton, Altmer, Khajiit, etc) or Beasts (Wolves, Bears, Skeevers, etc). the reason i ask is because in the various Silver Hand bases you can find dead Lycans and on my Volkihar toon i used Vampire Servant to Resurrect one. But that is because the spell is that strong, but if they count as humanoid i could use Dead Thrall on them and then...PERMANENT WOLF BODYGUARDS

I've tried dead thrall on a bandit chief, vigil of stendarr and a guard but I was told that they either resisted or the spell wasn't strong enough so I can only assume that it won't work on a werewolf either. But I'm not saying it's not worth a try, you might run the risk of it turning on you when it is risen though. :ahhh:

nice, how long did you have em for? I've never tried the vamp servant spell, and I really didn't do much with conjuration any way just played around with it.

Sounds like it is the best Thrall, I thought flam thrall was cool but having a werewolf sounds even better!!
Dead thrall is the one that raises them permanently isn't it? Try that and see if you can have em guard your butt the rest of your days, your own personal hell hound

Lycan: Shortened form of the term Lycanthrope...rolls of the tongue better too. I use this term for 2 reasons:
1. The same reason i say Vamp instead of Vampire, to get my point across quicker
2. Because Underworld is [censored] awesome

I think it would count as a wolf when it's beast form, and humanoid it's in normal form.

Assuming your on PC, you could try making a mod with a werewolf weak enough to cast the spell on and see if it would work.

In D&D 3.5e, lycanthropes are humanoids, not animals, so logically, I would say yes you could if we were playing Elder Scrolls p&p because lycanthropes have a humanoid body frame when transformed and are definitely humanoid before the transformation.

Wait! Did vampire servant turn it dust? That's one of the things I can't stand about conjuration! Whenever Im facing those Necro-weirdoes I got to stealth kill them and re-load whenever they raise their dead friends through freaking walls and cages... Not mention that those ash piles reman there for a millennia..

Hey, if they haven't already patched it yet you could do that alchemy glitch and increase the duration of it to the point where it's basically permanent.
