Interesting... Those humans vanish on me so I never see them when I leave.

The Labyrinthian. The simple fact that Bethesda adds a dungeon that was featured in Arena makes me cry tears of joy.

The Labyrinthian also has a lot of secrets in there... It is like 3 dungeons in one deal!

A unique dungeon first then I want a great story and lire behind the place, I want to feel a connection to that place and just diversity within, and typically I would say big dungeons for some reason feel more special to me.

A dungeon should IMO have:

1. A deep backstory told by letters/notes and books
2. An environment that tells its story by it's own (e.g. a torture chamber says alot about the people living in the dungeon)
3. Different and challenging enemies.
4. An environment with original details
5. Difficult puzzles
6. It should have a lot of treasures worth looting (and preferably treasures with a backstory)

You do know the people ARE the Spriggans, right?

I doubt that, since I saw them get killed by the Spriggans. If they were the Spriggans I'd say they'd just turn into the Spriggans or something.

Its Blackreach for me cause its huge in size, multiple foes to engage with, alot and I mean 2 castles full of weapons, armour, and other items to gather and sell. Plus the fact that I wonder who made this wonderful place. Where everyone go. Plus you find Sinderion there studying the crimson nirnroots as he did in Oblivion with the green nirnroots. It really makes me wonder how he got there and who killed him. They did an awesome job on Blackreach. It along could of been a Dlc if not been already in the game.

I like the pale quest dungeon. First time i red the journal or whatever about the khajiit who became crazy and saw the "PALE LADY" in his dreams and screamed all night and stuff It made it so scary.

Except that it is but a shadow of what it was in Arena, a proper labrinth. But as usual Skyrim turns it into a streamlined A-B corridor with little to no risk of exploration or getting lost. Most Skyrim dungeons svck, they are literally 2 hour long corridors. Oblivions were better, Daggerfalls were much better.

Without giving too much away there is a really impressive one with trapped ships in not far from Solitude which we thought was pretty awesome.

A pivotal question in the success of the Elder Scrolls series, what is it that you think makes for your favourite dungeon experience?

I'm intensely curious to here the opinions of others on this topic, as i'm in the early stages of having my own attempt at it. I've narrowed down the location and decided upon a Dwemer theme that features many factions, however i remain sceptical about everything else.
I always love little unexpected things. Black reach had that with the large, detailed underground city. Word walls are awesome along with great treasure or lots of chests.

I really just love it when I am surprised in caves when they have a neat little story behind them or lead to a cool place.

Well in my opinion:

1. Dungeons with a great back-story is must. Whenever I enter a cave or an old ruin, I explore it down the smallest detail to see what I can find, and if I come across
an old journal or a note, it makes the experience a thousand times better!

2. I suppose this links in with number one but my favourite dungeons in Skyrim are the ones which have specific quests related to them. Like I said, this provides a
back-story about the location and makes it a longer lasting experience. < The last part sounded like some sort of six ad!

3. Ones with lots of loot to pick up! I.E Gold, Enchanted weapons/armour and Ebony Ingots!

4. Different enemies all varying in difficulty

5. Dungeons that are non-linear are also amazing, ones which contain all sorts of deadly traps and have plenty of twists and turns.
