Mage armor with armor....?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 10:26 pm

So I have been searching for an answer to this question.

I have always assumed that if you are wearing armor, that mage armor will not work.
i was messing around with my assassin, who uses light armor and alteration and he was still getting an increase in armor rating.

My question is does mage armor work with any armor? Is it as affective? Can you use it with heavy armor? At one point does it stop/start working (like what armor rating)?

Mage armor does work with regular armor, and it only caps at around like 580 when normal armor caps out.

You're confusing it with a perk, however, that boost the effectiveness of Mage Armor when you're not wearing any other armor.

Protection spells (ie. ebony flesh) will still work with armor, you just won't get the x2/2.5/3 multiplier for the armor added with the spell.

I am aware of the perks, I want to know if you can still get an armor bonus from the spell while wearing armor.

Kk, thats what i wanted to know. Thanks
