Barbarian RP guide

Here me out my fellow's before this thread is buried in the sands of nothingness that is the second page.

I had an idea, once. That, perhaps, maybe with the help of my fellow forumers, we could start a new trend. A series of threads where we could discuss, how to RP specific builds and classes. I wanted to start with this one, a classic, the barbarian. How do they behave, what do they eat, what do they routinely do, favored weapons, armor?

Feel free to begin starting threads for other classes as well... I'm off to sleep. Peace.

Making a traditional barb myself. He only uses light armors such as fur and hide. He prefers good 'ole steel two-handed axes. He is superstitious of/ disdains magic so he won't be using any spells and he won't be enchanting anything. But what about alchemy? I originally discounted this as i considered it a magic type skill and couldn't picture him hunched over an alchemy LAB. Then I thought about how it involves combining natural ingredients ... certainly he would have some knowledge of this since he is an outdoorsman/survivalist type and would have tasted many of them so he would know some of their properties. So, what do u think, is alchemy a possibility for a traditional nord barbarian?

Ask yourself what kind of barbarian
You can be a barbarian from populair culture, aka the two handed weapon wielding fur clothed supestisious type

Or the real historican barbarian
Historical the word barbarian was used by the ancient greeks for everything not greek
The romans considered everything non roman barbarian, including other civilisations just as complex as their own
A good example are the gauls and other celts who society was just as complex as the greek/roman and even in most cases just as advanced,
So i don t see a prblem in a magic using twohanded weapon wielding brute dressed in a bearpelt or chainmail armoured shield and sword type of warrior

Fortunately, build ideas aren't restricted to just one person. They're a community effort! :)

As others have said, two-handed weapons are the way to go. I'd stick with the basic materials - steel and iron - and fur armors. These would have to be smithed at higher levels, likely in one of the small villages, where you could sneak in, improve your weapons/armor and sprint away. The idea would be to stay away from civilization, which would shun you and your type. Perhaps find a fort or cave to live in? An occasional raid on villages and towns would be good. A carnivorous diet. And that's all I can really think of at the moment.

Barbarians? Most likely a nord or a orc.
Perhaps even eat meat raw like a hardcoe barbarian?
