Loving the great moments!

So I finally had my first awesome archery kill cam moment.

Before I get into it though I just got to say that sometimes the kill cams can be buggy (might just be me) and the style of kill cam doesn’t always suit the moment but all in all it does give archery a bit more suave.

Erik, Delphine, Esbern and I stumbled across Karthspire (the Forsworn camp anyway) whilst looking for the fabled Skyhaven temple, just as darkness was taking its hold over the Reach. The sentries guarding the mouth of the cave went down easily from a barrage of arrows and ice spikes, their cries for mercy falling on deaf ears. Delphine and Esbern were eager to explore the cave, against my protest at leaving a rear guard (i.e. I jumped down from the overhang, bumped into them and got knocked into the cave). However, we soon learnt that our pervious stealth assault had not gone un noticed and before we had a chance to react, were up to our ears in Forsworn. True to their training Esbern and Delphine tore into their ranks with stone faced, cold-hearted determination, soon joined by Erik as he charged in behind shouting a battle cry to match the gods! The encounter was a bloody affair to say the least. With little room to move, I hung back and hammered the oncoming Forsworn with arrow upon arrow, thinning their numbers and bunching them together. Delphine and Erik held the wings, with Delphine pulling an injured Forsworn in close, using his bulk as a shield, whilst gutting him at the same time. Erik traded blows with another, finishing him with an overhead blow that shook the very foundations. However, much of our defence was due to the stout and reliable effort of Esbern. Adding another member to our party, he summoned a giant ice demon, which added with his magic attacks faltered the forsworn charge. The enraged demon was truly a sight to behold, wading amongst them, crushing bone and flesh beneath the icey mallets it used for hands. It was then that I caught a glimpse in the corner of my eye. Erik was down! Fear gripped my heart. On his knees and clutching a stomach wound Erik was still in the thick of the battle, only now using his body to defend our left wing instead of his prowess with the broadsword. A truly selfless hero. But looming over Erik’s broken body, and the reason for his blight was one of the twisted and freakish Briarhearts, puppets of the Hagravens. I saw the glimmer of malice in his eyes and the pain twisted grin he wore as he went to finish off Erik. A curse escaped my lips as I sighted him down the shaft of my arrow.

“NO! Die you b*****d!”

And then it happened…

Slow motion saw the arrow travel straight and true. It sailed over Erik’s wounded body, delicately and gracefully, only to punch the Briarheart of his feet. The end of the shaft protruding from his gaping maw.

EPIC!
