Skyrim guards are pushovers. Oblivions were intimidating

Skyrims guards don't scare me at all. Oblivions guards when you committed a crime, they would let you know! Who agrees?

STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!

Is the total best line for the guards

In skyrim the guards are too "by-the-book", going on about "committing crimes against skyrim and her people, yadayada etcetc"

And they call themselves Nords! Pfffft :meh:

I used to be scared of the Guards in Morrowind and Daggerfall, as they were not that nice to me. But then in that game at low levels, everyone treated you like crap, as it should be. I used to misbehave in Morrowind and I was constantly on their bad side. I would even do a certain quest to get them off of my back. The guards in Oblivion never bothered me much, probably because I knew how to cover my tracks.

The guards in Skyrim, they are just lame cripples.

Oblivion's guards? Intimidating? Not really, I would just spend hours slaughtering them all.

Any time your camera gets instantly zoomed two inches away from someone's angry face, it's somewhat intimidating. Even the Adoring Fan was terrifying with THAT dialog system.

I fixed that in the INI for Oblivion. You can adjust the zoom in there. I set it to where the NPC looks the same to me whether I am in conversation or not. Skyrim is pretty good about this stock.

Oh, yes. That was the very first change I made to Oblivion, on the day the game was released. In fact, less than an hour after I installed the game.

How so?
I think I remember reading that the guards continue to level with you up to around 50.

It's not the guards that are the main problem. It's the fact that you can become overpowered so easily.

I thought the guards in Oblivion had more power behind their voice, which I perceived as intimidating. The guards in Skyrim sound like wimps to me. Though to be fair, the guards are tougher in Skyrim. But I will always miss the trash talk Oblivion's guards would throw at you during combat. "WHY! WON'T! YOU! DIE!!!" Great voice acting if you ask me.

And I have to admit that the first time an Oblivion guard approached me from behind, I jumped outta my chair. Just peacefully walking around one moment and then I have my camera spin 180 degrees to have a guy start yelling at me. I don't jump at all with survival-horror games, but those guards in Oblivion...

Jeepers, give the Skyrim guards a break.

They have crippled knees and suffer from the sever psychological disorder of cousin-envy.

And on top of they one of them might be the Dovahkiin an just not know it yet.

Almalexia's personal guard were far nastier than the Legion guards from Oblivion and Skyrim's guards. There was a reason they were the most feared mortals in all of Morrowind.Get on their bad side and you'd wind up either dead or have a zillion stat debuffs on you.
