A small idea that would be cool

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 3:13 am

So... I play on PS3, but i watch gamespot's skyrim mod highlights allot and i pretty much drool over the cool ones. the ones like the tower defence from this week. so i got thinking, what if Bethesda every week or so released 1 MOD that was picked by the console players to be featured as a DLC? free of course. but there would be restrictions.
  • It has to be content, no extra toggles or hd upgrades, stuff like dragon bone weapons.
  • Consoles have to be able to handle it as if it were in the game already, so again, nothing like Weapon and armor mesh upgrades.
  • It has to be cannon, can't have lightsabers or assassins creed armor
  • Has to be picked by the console community.
  • Can't be add on quest lines
  • must be from skyrim workshop, not skyrim nexus.
How would only the console community vote? Bethesda would narrow down the new top 10 or what ever mods down to 5 by using the criteria above. then they would make a message in skyrim saying something like "go to *insert web link here* to vote on your MOD of the week" you would go and there could be videos and or descriptions and you would vote.
Ideas it could include
  • Armor or weapon sets
  • small houses
  • add on spells or shouts
  • minigames such as tower defense, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Snj558OVuw&feature=g-all-u i hope that worked... please don't think it's spam or what ever. the first mod is the tower defense.
that's all i can think of right now, i'm not into the modding community so i'm sure there are others that would be acceptable. and it does not even need to be weekily it could be monthly even, but that would be for bigger MODS i'm guessing. thoughts? I tried to keep it as possible and realistic as I could.

A brilliant idea athough I think it would be difficult to do it weekly. Bi monthly at the most methinks.

I love the idea, but if the game is getting upgraded, why not adding the mod to PC as well?

Isn't tower defense non-cannon. And why not add-on questlines, those are my favorite mods

Great idea, but may be tricky where the legalities are concerned...

I for one would like to see it happen though :)

Great idea. And I feel 99% positive that it will never happen.

I actually really like that idea. Tricky, but not impossible if they had the time to devote to it. One of the hardest parts would be getting Microsoft and Sony on board. I think they have to approve that stuff before it actually makes it in-game, and that would probably just end up bogging things down. But heck, even once a month or once every couple of months would be awesome.

what they could do to help narrow down and with the legal issues would be to take the top 50 mod creators on the workshop and see if they would like to help make add on content, the mods, they would not be paid, they would be just helpers make the stuff then bethesda implements it.

Not quite understanding how so many people can say this is a good idea when the whole "mods to consoles" thing has been done to DEATH here, and the answer is always a very clear "no".
