I might be crazy, but I think.........

.......that whenever I spot a fox, I'm very close to a mineral deposit. And EVERY SINGLE TIME it's proven to be true. The fox actually leads me towards it.

Has anyone else experienced this, or do I need to seek professional counselling?

!!THE WHOLE TIME!! I felt something was up with the foxes in this game but I've just been killing them and saving the pelt. I didn't realize they were less useful dead than alive.

I've heard in the past that they lead you to interesting places.

Or maybe you just follow them until you find what your looking for.

Try following an elk. Or a rabbit. Or a goat. Or any creature, really. Take your pick! You follow anything for long enough, it'll lead you somewhere interesting. You can't throw a rock in Skyrim without hitting a dungeon. There's an extremely high probability that a fox will stumble across a handful of them on its travels, don't you think?

I followed 2 giants a while back. Even started RPing that they were my bodygaurds and I would let them kill everything while I loot the spoils but it got boring after a while and I released them from my control to join thier brothers from another camp.

Well it's funny you should say that, but I have often thought that the foxes lead us to things - like the path up from the sea to Winterhold, for example...

I constantly have foxes popping out ahead of me and running along whatever path it is that is leading me to the next place I need to go on whatever quest I'm pursuing. I noticed them very early on, and also in the mountains sometimes a goat would do the same thing... I mean a mountain goat doesn't really *need* the path through the mountains, they can just jump around and take all kinds of goaty shortcuts, but very often one would come out right in front of me and if I followed him it would keep me more on less on track.

It seems much more obvious now that I'm so familiar with so much of the territory, most of the time I know exactly how to get where I'm going so I'm never surprised to see some critter ahead of me who seems to be leading the way.

Mineral deposits... hmm... is that what you call them? I just flushed a mineral deposit down the toilet.

Well, you should push two arrows inside the fox and use the fox as a
hybrid Dowsing

Very interesting topic indeed.

I have noticed dead foxes quite often whenever I run into wolves.

For laughs I followed a fox after reading this post. Within about 10 seconds I had an iron vein in front of me.

But seriously, I'd concur that it led me to the deposit. I only took about 20 steps or so.
