PS3 Version running very smooth

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:31 pm

I thought if put this out there for anyone debating on buying skyrim for ps3. I assume it still may be a case by case thing, but mine is running super smooth, fonv crashed on me all the time, with skyrim I usually have to quit because my tv is getting warm or my eyes hurt - glad it seems to be operating nicely

I agree. You always hear only the negative about the PS3 version. I'm in the same boat here. A few minor glitches here and there, but that's to be expected. But, no issues with quests or problems with areas and the game is smooth as glass.

I think in general the PS3 version is running smoothly. It is just that people only post about performance when it isn't what they expected it to be. In this case you expect it to run smoothly (as you can expect a console game to be build for the specific specifications of the system).

So when it doesn't do that they'll mention it. So say the X360 version runs smoothly on 95% of the consoles and the PS3 version runs smoothly on 85% of the consoles. It will appear as if PS3 owners are experiencing three times as many problems as X360 owners.

Both versions are worth purchasing, but it is still true that after many hours the PS3 version gets more performance issues (although the X360 also has its fair share). If you have both consoles then X360 version is still the better option, the game was build on the X360 and, to those with a keen eye, it shows in both performance and graphics. But if you only have a PS3 then it is still worth getting.

If you played the Xbox or PC version and compare it to ps3 you would be surprised how choppy the ps3 version is... 100% of ps3 users will have terrible lag of you play long enough.

I don't own either a PC or an Xbox so I can't compare the PS3 version to them. I'm very happy with the PS3 version. They say ignorance is bliss (and I'm okay with that). And for the "play long enough" situation, I've been playing almost daily since launch.

The lag is inevitable for the ps3 version. And Xbox. Just not as quick. I'm curious what's your save file size?

Same here, loving every minute on my PS3. Although my longest character, a wood elf, was ended due to some lag. I've found ways to help prevent that though :)

been playing Skyrim on the PS3 since 11/11/11 and sure it had issues. But none I found bothersome enough to make me quit or wish I hadn't got it for the PS3.

I do have a gaming PC now with it on the PC. Its a completely different game. But I have a mental attachment to my PS3 characters. I'll keep playing it.
