A Savored Midnight To You:
My Fellow Masters of Skyrim.

(TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, IF YOU PREFER BREVITY SKIP TO THE BOLD SYNOPSIS, AT THE END)

I am here to find succor, albeit ironic, as my issue is the just the opposite for my player character and in so I am trying to find an essence of justice in the realm of skyrim. So let me get down to the true nature of this escapade into reality.

In Short: My character does not receive damage from his/her own spells.
Why, and How, could this be? How do I fix this?

--You may see how this seems to be an error in the game's mechanics. As, lets say for instance, my hypothetical fireball damages by companion and monsters or any other neutral npc's, yet not the player character him/herself. I would imagine this is to make the game easy for those trigger happy, wild, reckless wizards/persons out there. This to me is a poor affect of the game.

---In my own opinion it draws me into playing too simply, with poor tactics, and gives me a sense of god-like grandeur I am unaccustomed to in life. Wouldn't it seem appropriate to have my character damaged by an area effect spell, such as my (hypothetical) fireball? Wouldn't it seem appropriate that I burn along with all others, that is if I didn't have a warding shield up to absorb/deflect the area effect? Wouldn't it be nice if I had the chance to immerse myself in a sense of real and imminent danger when flinging a fireball at my feet? The answer is I would love to, yet I am unable to, so far...

--- Is there perhaps a mod out there that will fix this tactically and realistically poor situation? Is there perhaps a setting I can change? Is there anyone else that feels the same way? Is there even a way to change this via a mod, if someone could detail a bit how I would create a mod that enable self-inflicted player character damage.

--- Thank you =) for taking your time to help, for reading, for concerning yourself with a pure aspect of the game that is seemingly missing.

Alas, my good hearted Gurus of Skyrim, I hope to hear from you soon.

In Infinite Gratitude,
Your Confidant.

My player character does not receive spell damage from his own spells. How can I fix this? Is there a mod? If not, can I create one? If so, can you guide me? Thanks.
