Is the daedric armor set OP at high levels on master? 40+

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 9:24 am

Hey guys since the daedric armor is the strongest armor in the game according to the stats is it over powered on master difficulty at levels 40 and up? I want to know because I am doing some stat changes and wanted to know what is the highest I should go for armor rating Thanks.

The maximum damage reduction you can reach caps out at 80%. So going beyond that would not make any difference. Not sure about the exact number, but I believe it was around 567 armor rating (depending on how many pieces of armor you wear and perks/effects you have active) :)

But 80% damage reduction is the highest you can reach as far as I know. ;)

So essentially what does that mean? So far with the stats I've compiled the highest armor rating for the strongest Cuirass is 54 how high can I go for the Cuirass without it being Overpowered and actually do anything?

Not exactly it's more like everything becomes underpowered at higher lvls and you can still reach max armor cap with steel armor so it doesn't matter too much.

What do you mean, you can get steel armor as powerful as dragonplate armor???

With the right perks yes, as long as the armor rating is 567 or over then it will protect you the same as something with an 9999 armor rating

Depending on the combination of Perks, and it is a bit different for each material, any armor material can reach the cap. Armor choice is purely down to aesthetics and role in this game, at least once you reach mid levels.

Maybe not fur or leather as it can't be improved, but I think it can still be buffed up in other ways. Some armor materials only require two or three certain perks for this to happen, some require a few more.

Thank you guys so much so that makes it much easier for me when doing these stats because there is a cap on the rating. I wonder why bethesda put he cop on though and I wonder if there is a mod that removes it.

Everything, I mean everything, can be OP in this game. If you know how to use it.

Going beyond the 567 armor rating is fairly easy. Even a lower level light armor will go well beyond 567 when using the + % bonuses and alchemy-enchanting-smithing.

I currently use an all-elven armor outfit rated at 1095 without the shield.

You don't really need it. If you pay attention, nothing will kill you when you are at the armor cap. Well, most of the time anyway.

The armor cap is to prevent invincibility. At 567 armor rating you only take 80% damage from everything. You can smith iron armor up to be just as good as Daedric or Dragonplate. It makes the endgame better in that you choose your armor for aesthetics and enchantment.

There's one thing I'm unsure of though. If you use Oakflesh or Stoneflesh while you are at the cap, it doesn't do anything, correct?

Its a very effective system actually, while you are leveling up from level 1-50 the better stats matter but once you get your perks going then you can make them all equal at the end game so you can wear whatever you want and not care about the armor rating.

Correction: The armour rating at 567 and beyond is at 80 %, hence you take 20 % damage.
