Does it ever work if your follower wears it?

I dunno, what does it do? From what I've read there are certain enchantments that don't work for followers, so I don't bother putting them on gear that followers will wear. But I've never been sure if that applies to Dragon Priest Masks and the buffs they give. I've always just assumed it did but I wonder if anyone can confirm whether or not that's the case.
